Classic case of a jerk behind the keyboard who wouldn't say that to my face...very impressive. :supergay: Why would I post such info if I made it up? I have friends who work for Ford and I respect their wishes to not divulge details. If you doubt this - you can go back and look at my post re hp/torque specs, well, well before they were officially released, and you can see the numbers are extremely accurate, short a last minute extra 10lbs of torque. Pages of people like you doubted and ridiculed what I posted etc, and sure enough my info was correct. You can also look later in the thread - since you're so focused on whether something is bs - and see pics I posted from the ford engine plant where our raptors motors are made. You can believe it or not, I don't care - but what I posted above is 100% true.

Jeez...you try to help out a forum of guys with some real info and here come the bs flags...lame.

I very much appreciate your contributions to this forum, thanks Lightman! Keep the info coming as much as you can.

I also appreciate it and it matches the same thing I've heard from someone at axle plant [emoji106][emoji482][emoji108] hopefully trucks will be shipping soon.

so for those who went through this process with the Gen1, based on your experience. When will the 2018's be available (to actually receive by a customer, not a when can we order them question).

I ask because if we can take delivery october 2017 I may just cancel this order.

Varies year to year. For the 2011 Raptor (2nd year Gen I) first delivery was ~Dec 8th '10. Hope that helps.

actually that makes me feel better about waiting for this order to go through. I fully expected early november deliveries this year and october next year. If next years deliveries may not happen until December Im ok waiting this order out a bit longer.

thanks.

If I remember right, Raptizzle and Bojangles were among the first to get their '10's, which I think was the end of Oct or beginning of November '09. Of coarse I can't remember what I did last week so....

You also have to remember that once production gets vamped up there will be trucks rolling off the assembly lines nonstop throughout the year and as time goes on production/delivery times will continue to get shorter and shorter. I wouldn't be surprised if by mid spring of 17' trucks are arriving in the normal 6-8 week time frame.

I am more concerned with whatever changes they make for the next model year. If there is a good chance of a better engine next model year and all we have to do is wait another 6 months then I would obviously wait for the next model year.

This is assuming I dont get the 17 model until March.

Sure, it's a V6. But it is turbocharged and makes more Hp and torque than the 6.2! I know American steel should have a V8, but really, performance is performance. Besides a bird in hand is better than the rumor of one in the bush...
