Like Trey and others have said, the ranch is tied up from late September to the end of the year and it's just too damn hot in west Texas after May to be sleeping in tents and doing the whole camping style thing. Plus that is the worst time of the year for the Rattlesnakes, that are in abundance out there, to be active. I think that a big run once a year makes the most sense, but with local expeditions for smaller groups in our respective areas is also good so we can be held over till the next EPIC Texas Raptor Run.

goin ******* on ur ass
One thing I noticed was that there were Raptors just a few months old with stock perch setting to Outlaw Raptor's Extreme creations. I am wondering if 2 tracks could be set up ? One for stock or new trucks, then one track for the guys that have had the 3.0 shocks and some mods done ? If you wait till next April even more Raptors will have 3.0 shocks !

One thing the "Ranch" could use is more showers, Maybe Raptor owners could donate time, building expertise or materials to make it better for all ?

From what I understand it was pretty taxing to set up and mark just one course. I think the answer is that those driving unmodified trucks just drive a little slower. The modified trucks are really built for the same track- they just hit it harder and faster. This can flow smoothly through different start times and staging. This works as long as people don't start thinking they're a whole lot faster than they actually are.

"Cough, number 39, cough, cough." I never did find out out who that tool was.

We could definitely get in there on Thursday. I would love to have some people hang back on Sunday to sweep course, and pick up markers too.

A few ideas I have going forward, based on suggestions, etc...

Split the ranch up into camps of 10 or so Raptors. Each camp has shower time allotted, etc. I noticed everyone sort of did this on their own anyways. Might as well utilize it to make things more organized. Maybe each camp can do their 'parade'/prerun lap together.

Stopping points half way through each half of the course. Good for picture taking, checking trucks over, hanging out, etc...

Meet and greet the first night. Maybe we can get a keg sponsor or something.

Name tags.

Build Raptor specific jumps.

More BBQ.

Better Cater Trailer.

Better shooting range time. Man that was fun.

Anyhow, always looking for suggestions to make the next one better.

Congrats and I am sorry. Respectively.

Hey Trey, being that I'm only roughly 55 miles or so away (Don't hate, I hear it all the time. lol), me and my friends will gladly help out on the follow up cleanup and so forth. I understand some of our fellow Raptor buddies have a long way to travel back home and I perfectly understand. I'm just glad everybody made that long trip down here. If it wasn't for you guys, we would still be 'dormant' you could say. A longer event!? Icing on the cake. :) A big shout out to all you Raptor guys and gals. 'Yall' make all this possible and that's definitely a big factor. And of course Trey is the big man here in Texas.

Is this the same Joe with the black screw and bashed in skid plate on the ADD bumper that was chasing me all over West Texas? Ha! You need to change your user name to "No Fear"!

Great hanging out with you and your friends, Joe.:waytogo:

I support any decision you guys make! Im in Texas, so it isnt that bad for me, even bringing the RV. I had a great time! I understand both sides. I think you wont get a bi annual event TRR, but you could always do a second regional meet out there, and get probably 20 or so trucks just from TX and OK. The benefit would be guys getting some extra experience on the course, and becoming more familiar with the ranch in general, then you would have a dozen or so guys you can count on to help with course markings and other setup for the big event. As a TX raptor guy, I kinda feel obliged to help our attendees who travel far and wide to come have a good time, and keep our host from wearing himself out to boot. Maybe do a small region gathering sometime next Jan/Feb, a walk through for setup, and a little fun as well. Would also give us a chance to get to know each other better for a support group structure, so, for example, during the big event if Trey tells me to go find Jim Bob, I might have a better idea who I am looking for in a sea of new faces...LOL
