If you move it to next year i might try and do an east coast event that is similar.

There is a "track" in PA that we might be able to use, if you end up pushing to next year i may pursue the idea a bit more aggressively. The nice thing is there is also some pretty decent trails for rock crawling/etc at the park. I have not been there yet to check it out or even talk to the folks that run the show but if there was enough interest i am sure someone could start sorting out details.

That is a cool place for sure!!! Never been there but that will change!!!

Great stuff in this thread.

My vote is for once a year, complimented with "limited seating" events throughout the rest of the year. I'm tellin ya Trey, this event has the potential to become enourmous. I've taken part in similar events for a different car that started 8 years ago... it started with under a 100 cars showing up, and last year they drew almost 800. Now its a totally different demographic and totally different type of event, but the idea is the same. Incidentally, the once a year thing has earned them serious media attention and the billing as the "World's largest annual gathering of...". They even had a TV spot on the PowerBlock this year. That's a big deal, depending on your goals.

As for what to do between now and then? Go do it! Get out there! But cap it to something like 10 or 15 vehicles. And spread it out to different areas and venues. Don't get locked into thinking everything you do has to be huge or over the top. That will kill the fun for ya, and you'll end up missing kinda the grass roots of what started this in the first place.

For example, we'll be getting back to our 10 or so Raptor events out here in Death Valley and Anza and Barstow etc soon. And as much fun as those are, trust me the talk around the campfire will be about how amazing Trey's event was this year, and how some of us made it and how some of us wish we could have... and how we might make time for his "BIG" or "Super Bowl" Raptor event coming in 2013... you know, when whos-that-guy will avenge his defeat from last year, or where so-and-so plans to debut their epic build, or...

Just sayin ;)

I voted once a year. But I think a few other small runs would be fun and keep TRR the big once a year event.

Just my .02

I'm all for once a year. I know for us the logistics involved would be very difficult too almost impossible to make the trip twice a year. You factor in SEMA,Sand show and other offroad expos it would be a real stretch for some of the west coast manufactures to pull it off every six months.

We are already getting some really big things planned for next years event and are going to make sure it will be a blast for everyone on our end. I think this will give Trey some time to prepare and really make this thing huge.

I voted for two times a year but Big J and RPG really make a GREAT point. California guys really had a LONG drive. Once a year is a big deal for long distance drivers. Kinda makes a Week long event. Saying that, starting on thursday and wrapping it up sunday for the long drive home would be a good idea.
Trey you can always have a "mini local event" but maybe it would be best to do the once a year biggie ?

Hey guys,

Looking at another event for 2012.

Here are the issues with doing another one. Mid Oct-Dec = Hunting Season. The ranch will be booked up. Mid Sept - Oct = BRT race, ranch will be tied up.
July-Mid Sept. Friggin hot.

So... Options are. Early September (Not Labor day). Mid June, Mid July. Or hold off until 2013.

Suggestions, Thoughts?

Hey, it was like 95 - 100 degrees there yesterday. So look at what 2 weeks can do. HAHahaa. I say wait.....
