Ford will give you a customer service manager (CSM) to manage the progress. I'd send emails to Ford cooperate online and I'd give your dealership a negative survey if you haven't completed it yet. This puts a lot of pressure on both parties. Trust me.

Wow... I am sorry to hear of this problem ballooning into them throwing parts at it!
Existing ecoboost trucks have had this same throttle body problem... mimics engine misfire too. This was the ecoboost bag of worms I was afraid of. Sorry about this!

So are you saying he doesn't need to drill a weep hole??

No, the weep hole is still necessary. I am not sure why you dog this. Do your research. All 11-present owners of ecoboost engines are having to do this it is a fatal design flaw from Ford.

Seriously Sasquatch? Are you really a Dodge salesman with too much time on his hands?

This was a rare minor problem with early ecoboosts. Since resolved. Just give it a rest already.

You just made my point by saying that this or that mimics misfires. So in short, you are saying that even tho something might make you think it's a misfire it's not and if it's not a misfire why the **** are we drilling holes in our $70k trucks? I guess because the inter web says so.

Misfire presents a code. Throttle body presents a code. They are different. You can definitely distinguish

Sorry to hear about the problems guys. Hopefully a fix or a correct diagnosis is near. I've had drivetrain issues with a Toyota truck in the past. Resulted in a buy back.

Latest news is they're going to put a new valve body into my truck's transmission on Thursday. It had nothing to do with the throttle body; that was just a mix-up by the salesman. He claims Ford had to take a part off one of the vehicles currently being built to get it shipped out to me quickly. I told him if this doesn't fix the problem, I'd like him to start talking to Ford about getting me a replacement truck.

Update today:

So I spoke with the dealer today, they are still waiting on the Speed Sensor. It is a back ordered item and they have no time frame of when it will come in. On top of that, the local dealer tech does not believe that it is the Speed Sensor but a Module problem instead and even though they have this module in stock, they cannot put it in first because they are now following Ford Engineers instructions.

Obviously this did not sit well with me and my dealer completely understood. We both agreed it was time for me to call Ford Corporate which I already have. I have been assigned a case number and told I should be contacted by someone from Corporate in the next few days. :banghead:

You’re already handling this in a manner better than I would be. Although I’d like to think I would have the objectivity to stay detached, for this kind of money, you’re owed and owed big. I understand mistakes happen, and if everyone got their trucks 3-4 months ago, that would be ok but Ford held these trucks back for 6+ weeks for additional testing and fixes.

I know that all the internet sympathy in the world doesn’t get you behind the wheel of your truck but they are going to make it right. It’s obvious from your post that you know how to handle yourself in a situation like this, so stick to what you’re doing, be patient, but advocate for yourself. If it starts to look like they’re totally in the dark, push to get a replacement. it will be faster for Ford and you.
