Got to love the internet. Talked to my LEO buddies I eat breakfast with every day---bring your horn here and use it. They will have a little surprise for you.
If you blow that horn and it causes someone to pull into traffic and cause an accident YOU will be charged and depending on the circumstances taken to the Grey Bar. The comparatives drawn about are reflective of either the inexperience of the poster/driver, arrogance because they think it makes the truck seem “bad ass” to them, or possibly they are just stupid and no I did not say ignorant. Takes all kinds but just know if you are cited and are dumb enough to post about it here I will be the first to post the ***** on the thread. Lights are also a good way to be pulled over and if the officer is a real pain can keep your vehicle from operation
People who use train horns on a vehicle given the right circumstances will be looking at jail time and rest assured that there will be no mercy shown by the court in that situation. Also, fyi the LEO’s that I spoke to about this shall we say hmmmmm how to put this---will be looking at Everything on and in the vehicle for other violations. All of the people who I know who are serious about having a capable off road vehicle see the train horns as something for the street queens or snot noses lol.
If you do not believe me about the ramifications please by all means check with your Counsel.
Wow, I will have to stay out of Texas! If in Texas Police will really lock you up for using a Train Horn, there must be a shortage of crime there. I have been involved in Law Enforcement for nearly twenty years in Connecticut. If someone uses a horn to cause "panic and alarm" or "causes a public disturbance", the officer can write a ticket for 78.00. I must say though in order for this to happen there has to be a bonafide complaint, which would entail either a statement from a complainant, or an on sight violation witnessed by the officer. I am not a fan of someone blowing an airhorn for the sake of blowing it, but at a show, or to prevent an accident, have at it. Wow, those Texas Officers are tough. I guess if I travel there, I will bring a good bondsman!
Northerners are a little different we all know that----prefer they stay north of the M/D!
Hard to fathom paying $500-$600 for a horn though.
