Trade my problem plagued 2018 for a 2020?

Trade value is right, actually its pretty good based on your miles.
Average Manhiem prices for your year with 25k miles is $42-45...
Most dealers give 2-3k under auction prices, so I dont think you will get a better offer.

I traded in my 2019 Screw, had a 73,900 msrp.. I bought it for 65k (new), I got $61,700 in trade and the dealer sold it at auction for 63k. Dealer had to pay a fee to Manheim of 500 or so and probably $200-300 to get to the auction. Not much profit , dealer just did the deal to move a new unit.
Id look on cars.com and search the whole country, dealers are giving away 2019's... there was Ford dealer on ebay with a bunch if extended cabs that were low optioned.

Why did you sell your Raptor after just a month or so? With the loss on your sale plus tax seems like it cost you at least $7,000 or so for just a month of ownership??? Just curious why you would take such a loss.

Because it was the worst built vehicle I have ever owned in my lifetime. When I bought it I was going on about 4 hours of sleep, I looked over the paint and even checked panels with a meter but I was not thorough like I usually am.

The front driver fender had a mold defect, every door jam had paint runs, in bright light you could see primer in the jams, the seems of the A pillars were all wavy, one headlight started to delaminate (peel), transmission acted super wonky for the first 30 minutes of driving and my driver seat cushion leather kept coming off the frame. Made three trips to the dealer in the first two weeks of owning it.
Then I started looking on Manheim at the insane number of Raptors for sale on Manheim and still sitting on dealers lots and figured if I didnt dump it now the hit in another year or two would be insane. If the truck wasnt such a piece of junk Id have accepted the longterm financial hit, but I know Id probably have mechanical issues at some point based on the transmission behavior.
I traded it in on a 2020 4runner TRD Pro, I got 4700 off the MSRP on the 4runner. Very few dealers (none in my area) will come off MSRP on them so in my mind it was a was wash.
Raptors are bad ass, but the quality is garbage.. maybe Im really unlucky but the more I read about them the more I think made the right choice.

I get it. I grew up with and love Toyota’s. They are usually bullet proof. My sister drives a 4Runner with over 200k on it.

but didnt you notice a huge difference going from 450hp/10 speed to a 270hp/5 speed?

I just traded in my 2017 with 61k miles for $46,500 and purchased a 2020 with a great discount. Couldn't be happier.

Cant get bit by same snake twice. Keep your truck. Dont buy the same thing twice. 2020 has nothing new to offer.. just some *** bits here and there. If by chance you get the same raptor like the one you have, it will drive you more mad. Extend the warranty if you can. No one should hve bought the Gen 2 in the first place except post molone. He got enough money to throw away. This truck should be called Ford Built Disposable instead of ford built tough.
I understand where you are coming from, but I had a 2017 street queen that was babied and riddled with all kinds of issues, so I traded it in on a 2019 (I would have felt bad selling it privately.). I couldn't be happier with my decision!!!!!!! The 2019 drives and runs great!!!!!! Ford has obviously fixed some issues and it is possible that he could get another lemon, but similar to me, he could end up with a much better truck.

People are very ignorant sometimes when it comes to manufacturing processes & the R&D efforts leading up to them. I'll play devils advocate for ya - first of all, that 4runner SHOULD be reliable, I mean sh*t - they only came up w/ the design like 15 years ago & have been "refining it - LOL" ever since, the entire thing is dated old tech start to finish. Its not impressive that Toyota can come up w/ an overengineered design 15 years ago & just keep hammering it out w/ no changes only fixing the little mistakes over & over again until yeah, sure its so reliable - its a design that has been beaten to death & then some.

You complain about the paint quality & panel quality.....I'd complain about the entire Toyota truck lineup being made outta cheap ass mild steel - your Raptor is made out of aluminun, you know, the same metal that was only used as body sheet in the most high end/exclusive/luxurious/high performance vehicles up until a few years ago when Ford decided to drop the AL F150 on us. A Range Rover is made out of AL. A TOYota is made outta mild steel...that will rust. WILL. RUST.

You essentially bought a 15 year old SUV w/ less power than a honda accord & less towing capacity than my wife's MDX

$20,000+ tax is a lot of money for piece of mind and basically irrelevant upgrades. You still have the 5/60 powertrain warranty, and even if the nav system/other tech crap does poop the bed, they're not that expensive to buy parts for if you Google info and DIY.

Is there an extended warranty option available this late in the game?
