I've only towed once with my Raptor, the Sport Trac weigh's between 55-6000K and my trailer is around 2000 so I'm right at the legal limit of the truck, and at no time did I think the Raptor was not capable of doing the job. In fact I was VERY surprised by how well it did up/down Cajon pass considering everyone talked about how poorly is was going to do.

I also didn't have equalizer bars nor did my electric brakes on the trailer work
. Just be smart and you won't have issues

Since you're still thinking that the world would be a better place if everyone did what you do, you probably won't glean anything if I tried explaining something to you.

Because we can. It pertains **** all to financial ability... I'm in the $500/day bracket and have a paid off house. I make my dreams reality. And right now, it's a Raptor that can tow a copious amount of my toys.

You might want to amend your assumption.

easy now. i dont think anyone meant anything with the comments. this question has come up quite often. as far as financial ability, it doesnt really matter. the point here is that towing with an offroad style truck has its limitations as it was not designed to tow much. and any modification will affect its offroad capabilities.

Towing a 8000lbs trailer will leave you with no load capacity in your truck other than you (assuming 800lbs tounge) that leaves 200lbs for you and anything in the truck. At that weight you will want air bags or svc bump, wieght distribution hitch, electric brakes on the trailer.

I am financially able to buy whatever I want.
I don't especially like towing with my Raptor. I do it two or three times a year, but I have made upgrades to make it more feasible. Heavier brakes, Better springs, front and back, A little more cooling, that will soon turn to a lot more cooling. My travel trailer is HEAVY. 31 foot, Jayco, and not a feather light. It is literally at the limit of what the truck is rated at. Although it sags in the back a little more than I would like, it isn't horrible. The truck starts, stops and runs fine. Drive like a normal human being and not like you are in a race where ever you go, and you will be fine. It may not be optimal for towing but it is solidly optional when towing.

Wow! 500 day!! I am impressed!! I hope you have your paid off house and copious toys protected legally because when your overloaded Raptor takes out a family of 4 you're going to need all the legal protection you can buy for $500.00 a day. If you're that well off why don't you just man up an buy a proper towing vehicle?

What I don't like is Johnny Garage trying to make something do what it wasn't engineered to do and then take this creation on a public highway.
Enough accidents and the lawyers start in, then we end up with laws restricting vehicle modifications.
Maybe you have the engineering ability to upgrade the Raptor's towing capacity, but I doubt it because if you did you wouldn't be here asking this question you would have bought a proper towing vehicle.

And stop with the condescending attitude. I am not 12 years old and I really doubt you could explain much of anything because what you are trying to do is contrary to the basic design of Raptor.

I am done with this "I wanna tow 15K" or "I have towed 15K and everything is great" argument.

Go tow whatever the hell you want, but god help you if you injure any of my family because your overloaded creation gets away from you.
