BMW M3: V6
BMW M4: V6
Porsche 911 Turbo: Flat 6
Porsche GT3 RS: Flat 6
Mercedes CLA45 AMG: I4
Mercedes GLA45 AMG: I4

;)

You're listing the starter Mercedes?

Let's be honest, Porsche only runs that engine because it's the biggest thing that will fit in the trunk.

The M3 and M4 are good cars but they are very small and certainly no where near the top of the stack at BMW.

You skipped the Skyline. It's still a VERY short list.

Rumor is seconded, my uncle races for ford. Told me to hold off until 2018. They are going to have a "gt" version that will be balls to the walls with the engine. The reason this one is the way it is, is to play the epa average game the law now requires out of them. I got 2 2013s now and plan on keeping at least one until 2018 and get a real raptor.

Here we go again.....Let the rumors begin, and go on, and on, and on. Why not just enjoy your current truck!.
P.S.: I heard the 2020 will have a whole new look.........and a motor made of unobtainium.
P.P.S. No biggie but the term is "ball to the wall" not balls, that would be a throttle quadrant for a multi engine aircraft. A single engine plane has a throttle ball that is pushed forward to the firewall for maximum power, hence "ball to the wall" / civilly, full throttle . No biggie but I hear the term misquoted more and more these days. Besides what the hell would the male anatomy being pressed against a perpendicular structure mean anyway. And no jokes on the "perpendickular".... ha ha okay I did it:ROFLJest:, it's out of the way now.

Stipulative vs. lexical evolution of statements. Its and english thing... not everything is as it's said, or means what we say.:emotions122:

But anyway cool story Dad, ill be sure to share it when my when my friends ask if i only have one nut when i say it that way!:ROFLJest:

I think the speculation over a better motor coming seems logical to me. Let's learn from history...2010, the Raptor is announced with a disappointing 5.4 motor. On a personal note...I really wished it came with a crew cab too. Good things come to those who wait!

Now, I get the point that some people have to buy the 2017 so that they'll keep making them. I for one might bite if I had a 2010, 2011 model year with some high mileage...but I personally have a 2014. I feel like that gives me the luxury of waiting and watching.

I've made the point before as have many others, to look at Ford's Diesel issues over the past 10-15 years. The 7.3 power stroke was bulletproof. Ford, influenced by emission requirements (uh hum uh hum) shrunk the motor. Didn't turn out so great for them. I realize that Ford is a huge company with lots of smart people...but just realize the latest and greatest isn't always that. I wouldn't be surprised by Ford introducing a larger motor within a few years of 2017. It might still only be a 5.0 V6, but id much prefer that (as many others would) to a tiny V6. I for one am not a believer in the Eco-Boost program. I am glad that I may have one of the last of the "dinosaur" large V8's and won't be in any rush to sell.

The 2v SOHC 6.2L is a garbage engine. They should have just put a 4v DOHC 5.0L engine in the Raptor. Larger aftermarket, lighter, more efficient....hopefully they'll offer a better V8 alternative in the new Raptors. This is coming from a supercharged 6.2L owner. Displacement isn't necessarily king....it's more dependent of the efficiency (not fuel efficiency [emoji58] ) of power production by the engine.

I do wish the 6.2 had more aftermarket support. It appears to have plenty of potential...
