Checked this morning before leaving for work(not in this truck)..underside of oil cap didn’t look abnormal.Check the oil fill cap, if the underside is coated with gray crud, could be the head gasket.
If the mileage is correct I bet it's something minor.
Ok…they are 3.5 hours away, not a simple drive back to them, they told me have an independent mechanic diagnose it and we will go from there which is exactly what I am doing.Dude you are your own worst enemy, the dealership where you bought the truck said they would make it right so why not let them fix it. Schedule an appointment with them and be done with it, probably in and out in one day.
You just made my point by making a big deal out of a 3.5 hour drive, but you do you and make a mountain out of a mole hill.Ok…they are 3.5 hours away, not a simple drive back to them, they told me have an independent mechanic diagnose it and we will go from there which is exactly what I am doing.
Can you read?…I said that they told me to have it diagnosed locally. Why would they risk something more catastrophic happening by having me drive it another 3.5 hours back. All options are on the table, I have life and job, can’t afford to burn time right now. I am off on Friday so that might be happening depending on the diagnosis. I am following what the dealer told me to get this solved. You just made my point by making a big deal out of a 3.5 hour drive, but you do you and make a mountain out of a mole hill.
