Dude you are your own worst enemy, the dealership where you bought the truck said they would make it right so why not let them fix it. Schedule an appointment with them and be done with it, probably in and out in one day.

Ok…they are 3.5 hours away, not a simple drive back to them, they told me have an independent mechanic diagnose it and we will go from there which is exactly what I am doing.

You just made my point by making a big deal out of a 3.5 hour drive, but you do you and make a mountain out of a mole hill.

If I were in your shoes,
I would make the 3.5 hour drive ASAP or arrange a tow and let them diagnose and fix.
Prob the best outcome in my experience buying and selling cars.

Can you read?…I said that they told me to have it diagnosed locally. Why would they risk something more catastrophic happening by having me drive it another 3.5 hours back. All options are on the table, I have life and job, can’t afford to burn time right now. I am off on Friday so that might be happening depending on the diagnosis. I am following what the dealer told me to get this solved.

I'm guessing the OP is pretty pissed and frustrated about whole situation and has probably thought about all the options available, no need to get on his back about how he should handle.
You guessed correctly. Easy to have a care free “it’s not a big deal” attitude when it’s not happening to you. I am well aware of the risks trading in a perfectly good low mileage Gen 3 on an 11 year old truck, but I also would have never imagined that this would have been the outcome on a low mileage Gen 1 within hours of purchasing it. I find it extremely hard to believe that they didn’t know, it’s possible but who knows. My only concern is getting it resolved

OP sounds like a bit of a doubter. Sames as me. A low mile Raptor? 11 Years old? I have grave doubts about that. Hope OP gets it resolved. Hopefully something simple.

I don't buy used for that very reason. I trust no one, especially car stealers.
