if your tires stay at the proper psi you would get better mpg regardless of what is in the tire but you have to keep it at the proper psi and nitrogen is supposed to do that but I am having troubles with some thing trying to figure out what it is before it would be put in any other tire.

Only as it pertains to nitrogen being more resistant to seepage than air.

As to the oxygen question, it's probably not a good idea. Exposure to pure oxygen supports oxidation. I'm not a chemist, but I suspect that filling tires with oxygen would make them age faster.

Keep in mind that air is 78 percent nitrogen.

Ha ha ha.. I missed that oxygen part in that sentence. I was thinking he was talking about air... For sure, I would never use pure oxygen!!! and oxygen explosive!!!

One thing ya'll need to keep in mind, is that the "air" you put in your tires (the same that you breathe) is about 80% Nitrogen. Going to 100% nitrogen is not worth the cost.

where did the like button go If you never ask questions you never know:waytogo:

Not sure about the Nitrogen vs air but I do know as an F-16 Fighter crew chief in the Air Force all landing gear tires had nitrogen in them.
If it's good enough for an F-16 I'm sure it's good enuf for my Raptor. I think it's a matter of being able to get nitrogen easily where you live.
