Let's see...the only clips we've heard until the FLT clip has been preproduction trucks or through ****** cell phone or GoPro mics. They masked the GT350 sounds while testing and I assume the did with the test trucks as well. Listen to any GT350 recoded through a phone mic and one recorded with some type of mic and there's a significant difference. Same with Jen 1.

I just watched the FLT clip again and played through my car speakers and it sounds great. Especially when those turbos spool up. Damn thing sounds like a modern beast.

I'll take it

Hold out for that Ram Rebel TRX...:ROFLJest::ROFLJest:

The exhaust note is part of the complete package. Especially the difference between a V6 and a V8. You're not fixing that with an exhaust mod. If you're going to drop 60-70k on a truck why would you accept any aspect you're not fond of?:

+1

This is the crux of the disagreement on v6 over v8

Why settle

I'll take it

1) In The prior videos (w/exhaust singing, incl. TFL truck) exhaust were not "masked" they were pre production trucks (first build)
2 Don't call her Jen1 she is Jenifer Won or Gen1, treat her with respect! Haha
2a) If turbos spooling and spitting are your thing then Fox Yeah! Modern!
3) Yes you will "take it" (method to TBD just after the warranty expires) totally kidding probably be fine

Thanks for your wishful input and insight + positive vibe

wow. guys. there is a lot of hate in here.

all i was saying is that. we had a v8 2012 f150 and have a 2012 raptor. my youtube videos show how much i have loved both trucks.

we have to buy new and the overall experience of one product vs another had us buy another to replace the f150. the Ram.

IMHO and everyone who happens to compare, the fit and finish of the interior of a lariat ram 2016 easily surpasses that of an 2016 f150 in terms of luxuriousnous (yes that's a word). Lets not forget how utilitarian f150 and raptor interiors actually are.

next, is the 2012 raptor a better sounding car than the 2016 RAM? it's pretty close. does the RAM sound better than than a 2016 ECOBOOST and (from what i have heard so far) the 2017 Raptor - easily.

(do i freaking hate the braking performance and the dial gear selector of the RAM - you bet) - but overall - the experience (for us) of 2016 V8 ram compared to Ecoboost 2016 f150 is not even close. do i think the new raptor is any good? i think it looks good. am i convinced based on the videos thus far? no. do i reserve judgement? yes.

do i love turbos? yes. always have. we also own a porsche ceyenne turbo. do i personally think that ford has made a massive mistake with the v6tt in the raptor? you bet. the marketing guys have been let crazy to drive ecoboost in f150 and mustang.

staying on thread about the video - apart from it being a raptor there is not much in the video that is motivating me at this point in time - I don't think it is a worthy replacement for my 2012 beast that I need to replace. Even the ford guy, the best he can come up with is "the drive modes"...

Masked physically like they did with the 350s or masked by way of not having production exhaust results in the same thing.

And modern...you know what I mean but hey Jennifer won must be defended at all cost.

I love all the people saying that buying a truck for the exhaust note is stupid. That's an over-generalization. The exhaust note is part of the complete package. Especially the difference between a V6 and a V8. You're not fixing that with an exhaust mod. If you're going to drop 60-70k on a truck why would you accept any aspect you're not fond of? That doesn't make sense.

Jennifer shall be defended at all costs! :ROFLJest:

I didn't see anyone say another is stupid for any reason.

You are contradicting yourself; you are agreeing with/supporting someone that accepted a truck with gear selector and other aspects they knowingly did not like, while also stating you shouldn't purchase a vehicle at that price range unless you like every aspect of it (when referencing the Gen2).

Sounds more like you are trying to put down the Gen2 at all costs to me, jus sayin...

It's not often we get something that we like 100% of...take spouses for example...nuff said. You keep the ones/things that you like most of, and can accept the faults of as well. To me regardless of cost, I weigh all the factors in totality, and then make a decision. I dont love the look of the GTR but it's a kick ass car. If everything else about the truck is awesome but the exhaust note, that's a silly reason to avoid buying the truck in my opinion. Too many people have their ears/hearts trained on the sound of inefficient old american v8's. While I'm not as progressive as wanting an electric truck, I'm going to embrace the sound of the more modern era ttv6. It sounds so much better than I thought it would after seeing the video! Haters gonna hate - but this video got me even more excited! :::smiling while hovering in unscheduled-clean::::

Damn, that magnetic looks sexy in the sun! I also like the sound more and more, skip to 11:00 min mark and crank it up. The truck has a nice deep tone under light load, it reminds me a little of my Cummins trucks.

I'm also impressed at the rigidity, I zoomed in when it was hitting some of the bigger stuff along with the camera shots showing the bed to cab clearance doesn't show it moving a whole bunch. It looks like the fully boxed frame is doing its job... if you film that gap or the bed itself in a truck without a boxed frame even on a relatively smooth road, there's a surprising amount of flex and wobble.

Also the full glass roof is awesome, the cab sure is nice and airy.

This is making the wait tough...

Still think it sounds terrible. My gf said it sounds like her quad lol. Good thing she has no say. I'll still order one late next year and add a couple mufflers. I'd rather hear nothing than OE exhaust. Maybe even an open/short ram style intake. I'd happily drown out the exhaust with turbo noise.

Speaking of GTR's ^^^^. I'd be stoked if it sounded like a GTR with exhaust. Something about Nissan's VQ engines, they always sound great.

Mark my words 90% of the whiners will own one of these, if they can afford one, after waiting two years in vain for anything but the TTV6.
