Whoa hold up there a minute... while the 5.4 was not designed strictly as a performance engine, neither was the 6.2. Well I guess performance engine could be used relatively, but they are mass produced engines built with reliability, longevity with NVH in mind.
And to let you in on a little info the 5.4 has TONS of potential when built for a performance application. Hell the first and only year they allowed the modular engine in the Engine Masters Challenge it DOMINATED all the competition taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd place with only 3 entries. EMC immediately disqualified the continued use of the Ford modular platform in their challenges! #phuckyourls
Disclaimer, I'm not just a 5.4 only fanboy just saying this for that reason, because although I do really like the platform and have had many I do wish my Raptor had the 6.2. More so because the increased production means majority of all aftermarket parts are designed for that application, but it would still be nice to have it too.
