I'll be aggressively retaining my 2011. I wouldn't trade it for a 2017 even if it did have a decent engine and steel body panels, but those characteristics will make me all the more proud of my 2011. I will continue wave at every Raptor I see like I do now, but when I wave at a 2017 it will be out of friendly pity.

You know, I really like these pics lined up this way. Kinda gives a person a different perspective of the two gens. It also reinforces my desire to keep my TRUCK and not trade it on the new TOY. lol Seriously though, doesn't the Gen 1 just look so much more capable???

It would be fun to play with the twin turbo setup, but I already got a bad ass raptor. I would rather spend my money on a good f-250 to haul my raptor. By 2017 the aftermarket parts for our gen will be cheaper and it will be harder to say no to more fun there. I live the new one but the math for the cost per fun ratio favors the old one.

I'm happy to go on the record saying I will not buy a next gen raptor with a v6 regardless of specs & performance. I love my raptor but I'm not a die-hard fan boy either that needs to stick with the brand when I'm not totally happy with the direction it's going. And considering I've upgraded most of what makes a raptor a raptor anyways, I can easily choose another platform and build a truck that's more capable. Or like the poster above me, I wouldn't mind getting a better hauler for all my toys and just going all out with current raptor or buying a dedicated race truck. To each their own, not trying to influence or hate on anyone else.

I won't be getting rid of mine, not b/c of the whole V6 thing, but because I haven't put mine through it's paces enough to say "ok, our time is up"...I see no real point in having bought a 14' and getting rid of it...i will look for a DD, which is looking like audi s /rs or bmw m...we'll see....
