My work truck is a 14 Ecoboost with factory raptor tires on it and my raptor has 37" Projects on it. The Raptor gets better fuel mileage, accelerates harder, and tows better than the EB. I'm not a believer.

Look at it this way, you have EB junior.. The next raptor will come with EB Mega.. :)

Comparing anything at this point is, well, pointless.. We have almost 2 years to wait to find out if it is a worthy upgrade over the 6.2L. What we all know is the engine that goes into the Raptor will have significant performance improvements over the EB available today.

You talk a lot of shit on here for someone who doesn't even own a Raptor.....

I know right? Just a perspective buyer being hassled by a bunch of unfriendly Raptor owners, its pretty sweet isnt it?

Im part of my local Jeep club and we welcome ANYONE who wants to join no matter what they drive. Drive a Raptor? Sure come ride with us! Toyota? Dodge? Nissan? 100% stock? Who cares lets go have some fun!

We actually had 2 Raptor owners with us for awhile. One got told never to show up again because he would drink on the trail then proceed to destroy areas that were not designated for off-road travel, he was a complete tool. The other was a super nice guy that had to leave for a job offer in another state.

Anyways. Who cares if I dont own a Raptor YET. I dont because I had to make a choice to spend the $60k I had saved up for a 2014 or for my wife to follow her dream to be a pharmacist. Guess what I did? So now Im waiting on the 2017 which is right when my wife will graduate and Ill be first in line at my local dealer to get the 2017 Raptor.

Thanks for being so welcoming to your little community though! Really appreciate it.

Us "non-Raptor" members need to stick together. I was going to buy a 2013-2014 Raptor soon, but I'm waiting to get a clearer picture of what the 2017 has to offer.

Seriously man? You come a Raptor board talking a bunch of smack, and say people who want a V8 in the new version are only doing so because of “machoism”? And now we are the *****? Yea right…. No buddy, I was hoping for a V8 because of what I plan to use the truck for. I’ve been on plenty of jeep runs or events as I have owned 3 built up wranglers and almost bought a fourth (bought the Raptor instead). So I’m not sure what you are trying to say. A ****** is a ****** no matter what vehicle he drives…. and you sir are coming off as one.

I'm surprised we started yet another thread about it. What's this make it like 9 threads all discussing the same thing? What's that say about Raptor owners being ADD. Sorry just venting as every time I log in to the 2017 thread 2 more threads appear and we get in the same argument. Oh well I guess I posted in this one so I'm guilty as well.... O look a butterfly...

If youve owned 3 built wranglers and actually used it for its purpose or went on any Jeep/offroad runs you should know darn well a 4cy, I6, v8, etc have all been proven reliable and useful in an offroad setting.

Sorry if Im coming off as a '*********' because I dont buy into the 'v8 or nothing **********' going on around here but thats just my opinion. Not every prerunner, offroad vehicle, or heavy use vehicle is a v8 simple as that.

Throw the right reliability, engineering, hp/tq, and driver into an offroad vehicle and you can tackle a lot of gnarly shit no matter what the engine choice is. Im a firm believer that technology is a replacement for displacement and that the ttv6 does not neuter the Raptor one bit.

Sorry I do not agree with you.

Exactly why I merged all of them - to put all of the bench racing and whining in one spot. All future discussions on this topic will be moved here.
