Not sure what backbiting is. Sounds kinda gay. But that's not a problem. All are welcome here.

Point is - there's room for all kinds of folks and all kinds of preferences in vehicles here. Just not for people who make up irrational reasons for why not everyone shares the same taste in vehicles they do ;)

Here you go, going forward you now know.

Just saw this thread and reading through the comments . I feel the same as most I like the V8 and I also have a EB motor in another vehicle and love it , but if over boosted it goes into limp mode and has no power until you shut down and restart . With that said I wanted to share some news since I don't know how many actually get to drive the new 2017 Raptor here. I went to Jeep truck Fest in Orlando last weekend and ran into a friend that has a 17 they are testing and making product for and he said in stock form the truck is great has power and he really likes it . Now with what they produce they have made power gains and improvements and the engine responds well to them like the other EB motors. I want to give more info then that but he has asked me to keep it on the low . I will grab pics and more info as soon as I can to share with you guys once it isn't a classified thing . Now with that being that I still don't like to ideal of towing with the EB motor and being into boost with a load for continuous periods and think it will kill longevity of the motor just my .02 ..........

Never thought I'd be rooting for big oil to grease some palms and keep enabling the industry. seems like they would only have to get those numbers on the lightest base models in perfect conditions. You know like they do now.

I don't understand this entitled attitude over the ecoboost v6. People are expecting power to be 500/500. All it really has to be is "better" than last gen. It's only what a couple thousand more than last gen. I would think that money would go toward expensive aluminum and a stronger frame. I really hope nobody offs themselves when ford announces 450/475. It's lighter with way more tech than last gen. I'm pretty sure they axed the brembos from last gen probably claiming its lighter and doesn't need them. That exhaust looks expensive too.

You're right, it just has to be better.....
Well, Ford has said the new GEN2 Eco will be more powerful. So any numbers better than the current Ecos will be enough to keep all other pick-ups (and most cars) in our rearview mirrors.

The following links are current Ecoboost f150s vs GEN1 Raptors. Pretty sure GEN2 Ecoboosts will do well on the track and sand. (not sure about the long term reliability though, we’ll have to wait for that)

Also, according to carlane.com Gen2s will have larger than usual Brembo Brakes:
“It also gets 17 inch aluminum rims wrapped in 35 inch all terrain tires, unique Fox-racing shocks with external reservoirs and internal bypass valves as well as larger than usual Brembo brakes, all meant to make the Raptor a beast in off-road.”
