GEN 2 Temporary Raptor Replacement - What would you do?

I came from a Tacoma and the 4Runner, much like FTO was saying is sluggish to drive and have not so great mpg (not that you’d care coming from a raptor) especially considering their size. Anyway, they hold their value really well as I sold my 2018 Tacoma with 30k miles for only a few thousand less than I bought it for. If what you are worried about is resale value though that would be the way to go in my opinion.

Do you attribute that to the current market (the same one that will pay me extra for the Raptor)? My other worry is that whatever I buy as the temporary vehicle I'll over-pay for.

I think it’s just the used vehicles that are being sold for crazy amounts. The difference between a used and new vehicle is only a couple thousand in some cases. Haven’t stepped on a lot since I got my raptor so don’t quote me.

I disagree about the depreciation as well. Tacoma’s are cramped that part is true though.

Depreciation on Tacos is similar to a Raptor, if not less.

Buying a used Taco seems like a dumb idea to me given that new ones are nearly the same price.

Tacoma is basically KBB's best midsize resale value truck year in and out. I hate them, but OP asked for something to drive in snow and with negligible depreciation. Checks the boxes.

Going through the same thing at the moment, sold the Raptor last week. Any used truck or SUV is going for a premium right now. I've been getting great quotes on new 2020 cars (Stinger, S4, Charger), no one buys 4 door sedans apparently. I'm tempted to buy something new to eventually replace our Rav4.

I honestly love my wife’s MDX. It’s a 2012 but if I wasn’t a sucker for premium performance it’s one hell of a road tripper. It’s far from slow but nowhere near as cool as my Raptor or CTSV. Buy one a couple years old with low miles and you won’t see much depreciation.

current market. Mind you the car only had 3k miles on also. It was still brand new. I got 4K more than I was offered in January.

Just sold a 19 Sti in July. Got almost what I paid for it.

They tend to hold their value better than some other sports cars.
