Strut extension vs spring perch collar

Quick question.

Wouldn't this strut extension maintain stock ride quality better than a spring collar? I only ask because in my mind, the spring collar adds preload to the spring where these would still give the 1.5" leveling without preload.

You have to be careful with leveling spacers that push the shock down extending the droop travel. The suspension is limited by the shock and with that style leveling kit the suspension will droop to far damaging cv's and tearing the boots when running in 4wd. The best option for the raptor is the collars so the travel stays the same. The 1.5 lift collars do not noticable affect ride quality since the shock stays in the bypass zone and technically preload does not change the overall spring rate. If you need any help let us know.

The ride zone would...same amount of lift so the piston would be in essentially the same spot as with a spacer. However with lift springs you're going to have a stiffer spring rate in order to achieve the lift.

It is the case with the eibachs, but you dont necessarily have to have a stiffer rate. you could have the same rate but a longer spring.

As others said new coils will achieve ride height change either through higher spring rate or longer coil but still keep you in the same shock travel range. This way you are not over drooping like a strut spacer will do.

I installed the RPG 1.5. I'm happy with the end result. Not perfectly level but I prefer it that way.

A longer spring with the same rate is not the same as a shorter spring with the same rate.
