So you didn't go to school apparently.
Unless the glass has an edge defect or takes a sharp point impact, it will bend before it breaks. The point is the glass may have been pushed down, without breaking and the aluminum roof got dented.
Go stomp an aluminum or sheetmetal roof, then stomp your sunroof, tell me which one gets damaged first. Then stand on the roof, then the sunroof and tell me which one gets damaged first.
If it's getting pushed slowly against a beam at the top of a lift, I can fully see the glass deflecting, or bending the guides under the glass, until the beam hits the roof.

But, since you went to school and all...Genius.

Glass has little to no toughness. Toughness as a material property is the ability of a material to absorb energy and deform plastically without breaking into pieces. I still remember some stuff from school.

Can verify.

You're wrong.

Quite possibly one of the most ignorant statements I’ve seen here. Please back up your wisdom with a qualifying statement.

At least there is an attempt to be a human above.

As a firefighter I have had to slowly apply pressure to body work of vehicles, both with hydraulic tools and manual. I can guarantee you the glass inside any window frame will break before the aluminum structure of an F-150 dents without breaking said glass.

Laminated passenger window glass saved a 3 mo old from a shower of glass the other day.

Metal bends. Glass shatters.

Okay Chief.
Point being, glass does indeed bend. Beyond that, it is entirely possible that the glass is strong enough when there is a flat beam pushing down on it to break the plastic tracks that moonroof slides on and dent the aluminum roof in the process, without breaking the glass.
Is that an ignorant statment?

who hasn’t launched a baseball into mom and dad’s really, really big picture window? so in my case, it was a foul ball or would have been, so not a high velocity strike like say a line drive right at it, but, yeah, that big a$$ window bowed, and did not break.

Well he did say that the moon roof was acting funny. I'd say that the moon roof track might have been damaged some being pushed down. I can totally see the glass holding up to the pressure over a wide area and not breaking.

Kind of surprising though as most 2 post lifts I've seen in shops have height safety cut off bar...

Yes, a baseball will leave a dent in sheet metal, but usually bounce off car glass. Though, I did see a foul ball land sqaure on a moon roof and bust it in a thousand pieces. My wife's truck was parked next to said car, I told wife to leave the moon roof open from there on out, at the park.
Engineered glass is very strong and will exhibit a lot of flexibility, usually takes some sort of defect or a sharp strike or immense pressure to break. There are videos all over the web of people trying to break car glass with hammers, bricks whatever. Usually, they just bounce off.

Well now, it appears the only way to solve all of this is for me to go stand on my moon roof. It’s a two birds one stone thing I suppose in that I can check to see if the tracks are dislodged, and to see just how well the moonroof will deflect. I’ll grab my tourniquet and report back.

Well, it's obvious the guys at the 4x4 shop put the truck into the top of the lift. I was only saying, you may want to check the rails in case the moon roof was closed, and it's making noise when you drive. Maybe take it to a good body shop and have them check it out. Usually free, or a few bucks to get an estimate. It is a ****** situation though.

I think we need to admit that this is all just speculation until @Truckasaurus weighs in. It’s probably the negative vacuum of the V6’s suck pulling the dents in from the inside.
