I think if the shocks have a bit of blow by (slight seepage) that's normal. Leaking oil on the hand probably means blown seal.

Seems foolish not to take this opportunity to upgrade to 3.0. You use your truck hard and the difference is night and day. Let them replace the stock shock so you have pinch hitters when rebidding you worn out 3.0s.
