2022 35”, couple months old,500 miles…..

From day 1, there is a steering wheel vibration at highway speeds. I see threads concerning front suspension vibration issues, but doesnt seem like folks are complaining about the steering wheel vibrating.

Obviously, the first thing that comes to mind is out of balance tire(s), but the dealer is going to tell me that’s my problem if they dont find a suspension issue and have to balance the tires.

Wanted to cover all the bases before taking it in, so appreciate any thoughts.

I had a slight vibration you could feel in the steering wheel and highway speeds. I switched to aftermarket wheels and tires and it went away. So could be the balancing. I removed the beadlock wheels.

Possibly tire pressure was set too high from the dealership. Heard that was a common issue with the new trucks.
I think the factory keep the tires inflated too high. I received mine with 50 psi all around. Decreased my pressure and ride was much more smoother.

I have balanced the wheels three times. Thought we had it until today when I put about 350lbs in the back. It shook at all speeds. Getting worried a bit, I left it outside in the cold with all that weight tonight. Teach it lesson.

did you take it to a shop that uses a hunter road force balancer? I've had tire issues with past vehicles and the only solution was finding a competent shop with a hunter machine. ask them not to use the "smart balance" function. You also could have just received a junk tire or two from the factory.

I use Discount Tire, they have balanced on and checked with multiple machines. We even broke down the tire/wheel so we could rotate the tire on the wheel. Their original theory was the tires sat for a year and the oils tend to fall, but rotating the tire on the rim should have showed that and they say that condition would have resolved itself by now. I have my factory wheels and tires I will be putting on to get through this winter. We will see if that resolves the issue. I’ll ask today what machine they use.
