when ever i first get in the truck and start to drive away slowly i am now getting a squeaking noise. at 1st i thought it was the leaf springs as i have had that issue before on past trucks with aftermarket leafs but i did notice that when i press on the brakes the squeak goes away. its weird because even if the truck just sits for a few hours it will do it. i know over night could just be some rust build up from dew and all that but it does it right in the middle of a hot summer day after sitting for just a little bit. it will only last a minute or 2 then it goes away and wont come back until the truck sits again. its just driving me nuts i cant figure out what the hell is causing it. anyone else experience this??

i should add truck only has 15,000 miles and the pads have good meat on them still, so its not the indicators. plus i am pretty good on brakes i dont wear them out quickly normally.

It sounds like it could be your rear rotors are warped. Mine started doing that and eventually it became more prominent. Everything I read leads me to warped rotors because my pads are fine. It seems to go away as I drive the truck and the breaks/rotors reach a certain temp. I haven't gotten around to purchasing new rotors but I will do so very soon. Perhaps someone else could chime in on this to verify my suspicions.

Maybe to test the rear rotors, jack the back of the truck up off the ground after its been sitting overnight and put it in neutral, spin the tires by hand and listen. Please use jack stands and block the front tires :)

good idea and o yeah i only do it the safe way when it comes to that. i own 4 wheel chocks and 2- 3 ton and 2-6 ton jack stands and i use them. had a close call with my last truck and i dont mess around ever since.

thanks for the words of wisdom tho

Never heard of warped rotors squealing, normally cause vibration in the vehicle and brake peddle under braking. Also they would not get back in shape at a certain temp. More likely you are dragging a pad and need to clean out your calipers or drums.

Probably not your issue, however i had a distinctive rear squeak in my 2012. It ended up being my tail gate, where it swivels up and down needed lubed!
