Yes, it is nuts... Driving across the country twice (kansas city to new york, new york to la, la to kansas city) is the easy part..
That's if Guinness lets us only do one run or two back to back..

Keeping the Tesla crew on speed/distance/time and not burning through the battery driving 120mph...

100 mph equals 15 30min recharging stops..
80 mph equals 10 30min stops..

Keeping an eye on navigation, weather, scanners, radar, and radios..

It is mind boggling..

How will the nav/scanners/radar/LIDAR/radios effect your electricity usage?

It will not effect mine at all... Everything is already installed in my Raptor and worked flawlessly during bullrun..

Keeping it out of the Tesla will help because there will be less draw on batteries. Just like we are planning fall/spring for cooler temps so they don't have to run a/c or heater..

Less accessories on the better..

Gotcha...so no radar/LIDAR countermeasures on the Tesla. And you said that you will be running behind the Tesla to ensure that you don't put dirty air on the car...what are your concerns with running +/- 80mph and dealing with LEO's?

Hopefully, I can stay close enough to provide needed coverage, since his roofline is pretty low.. We have discussed moving radar detector head to the light bar to give it the highest vantage point as possible..

He might still run a valentine one..we will see how his long distance test turn out and I can build the time tables..

Awesome vehicle to drive.....this ain't no Prius! Hopefully you can hit some of the 440 volt super charging stations that they have for the Tesla Model S at rest stops like along the I95 corridor.

I wouldn't waste my time on a Valentine 1 honestly. If you're running pretty close behind him, you'd be able to pick things up before him, if not FIRST since you will have a higher vantage point. If anything, I'd put a say of LIDAR jammers on the Tesla to block laser since he would be the first one hit. As long as you're on a walkie-talkie with him, you can warn of radar. Just my thoughts.

So are you are no longer doing any offroading in your Raptor? Just cross country silly adventures?

I am planning on doing some offroading when I can afford it again. These silly cross country adventures are being funded by others. I am lucky to be apart of them..

We are working on having a generator powered superchargers installed in the Raptor, this way we always have one available.

We are just keeping walkie talkie and cell phone in the Tesla, he is planning on installing blinder hp off of his GTR on the Tesla.

Good. As long as he has LIDAR CM's in the Tesla, I wouldn't worry about anything else. You'll pick up radar just fine being right behind him. One less thing needed taking electricity in the Tesla.
