Someone with 2019 check oil level?

My 19 was full new still full with 900 mi

Uh, yeah. I bought the truck new and was unaware of any "known issues". I am an idiot and wait until the idiot light tells me to make a move. Never an issue with any other new vehicle I've purchased.

Only reason I checked/changed the oil, before the idiot light told me to, I hit full throttle passing someone and it seemed to misfire or something. Now that I know the issues, I am wondering if they just come low from the factory. I will continue to check it every so often until I am sure it's not burning through oil.

There's always the possibility the engine could be using some oil until everything settles in, and more so if you drive it hard right off the lot before break in.

True, I just haven't had that pleasure before. So far, it sounds like most are getting shipped full or close to full. I will keep an eye on it for sure, maybe.

Checked mine today, right at 2000 miles. Cold oil level just about to the top of the cross hatch on the dip stick. I might add 1/4 quart or so, certainly nothing unreasonable.

What ever happened to kicking the tires and checking the basics before driving a new truck off the lot? I've owned dozens of vehicles, and from the cheapest to the most expensive, I've always checked everything before leaving the lot. Sure, it's under warranty, but come on. It's a machine checked by hourly employees that aren't paying the bills. Problems related to running a new engine low on oil may not show for some time - maybe even after your warranty expires.....

ugh... It hurts just thinking about that happening to a decent truck like the Raptor. I had this woman working for me many years back who came here from a 3rd world place. Her parents bought her a 22R Toyota Celica to drive around. She did nothing but put gas in it for, we think, about 60,000 miles. One day she complained her car was making a loud noise. Yeah it was, the arch-typical rod knock. It was a sad sight to see. That poor car died the death of 10,000 screams at the uncaring hands of a careless owner.

@2014RubyRed’s point is legit. We’ve had a lot of Raptors present with serious issues that would have been caught in pre-purchase inspection or a test drive or both. Some of us just got too enthusiastic about the purchase or were “pressed for time”.

I agree. I drive a lot of miles and buy a new truck every 2-3 years on average and do my own oil changes whenever the truck tells me it's time. I don't recall ever owning anything that really burned/used oil. I bought a 6 year 120k mile warranty, not that I will keep it that long, but I surely will keep it after the factory warranty is up. I didn't buy the warranty so I wouldn't have to do any maintenance, just to cover my ass and have something to pass along to the next owner.

I have been lulled into complacency by consistent oil levels between intervals on my other trucks. I started this thread to see if generally they were just coming new, low on oil. That does not appear to be the case. Maybe this well help someone else.

What oil and viscosity do these trucks run? My GT350 requires full synthetic and my sons 18’ GT requires synthetic blend. Getting ready to change my oil at 1k miles
