Man i hate to see careless cr@p like this. I know you’re pretty ticked off about now, but keep in perspective. Body shop will fix this right up. In the grand scheme, you would probably screw it up more off road in the next few years :) I hope you have this repaired properly soon.

I witnessed someone do this a few years back. He backed out of the parking space none too slowly, and literally bounced off some guy’s super duty, leaving a bit more than a mark, although he definitely got the worse of the collision. He tried to leave and I flagged him down, reminding him of his legal obligation to leave contact and insurance information. He pled ignorance, denying any wrong doing. I quickly snapped pictures of him, his vehicle and later his plate and advised that leaving the scene of a collision with damage was at a minimum a class 1 misdemeanor with up to 12 months jail time and I’ll be leaving the victim a note with contact info advising them of your collision. If you leave, I will go directly to the magistrate and swear out a warrant for your arrest.
You decide how to proceed.

He left a scribbled note that was indecipherable, so I followed up and left the victim a note with his actual information so he/she could follow up. Turned out they just wanted the money, not the warrant but I convinced them the warrant would get them the money much quicker. Defendants facing jail time tend to be motivated to pay up. Victim thanked me after quickly securing agreement from other driver to pay up.

You know what's interesting...

1. If you hit a vehicle and of course there is no lives lost... your insurance goes up slightly.
2. If you hit a vehicle and flee and you're caught, your license could be gone, no insurance company may never approve you ever again and you may be forced to pay for the other vehicle out of pocket.

So, if it happens, just call insurance, and take that $10/mo raise in insurance lol.

All ready files a claim. Got the estimate. My body shop can't get to it until early December. I trust them. So I know the truck will be right.

Pissed another low life criminal is getting away with something. Pissed my truck will now have a CARFAX against it.

beyond that....I am not too terribly mad at the situation.

Hmm...

Is there a way to ensure that its not listed as an accident on those websites?
