Time for some Fiberglass bedsides.
This 1000%. Please someone smash my bedside so I can have insurance pay for +4 glass. I bet you can have both sides done for what insurance pays to fix one side back to OEM spec. Hopefully they messed up your bumper too so the dovetailed bed matches a Baja style bumper.

All ready files a claim. Got the estimate. My body shop can't get to it until early December. I trust them. So I know the truck will be right.

Pissed another low life criminal is getting away with something. Pissed my truck will now have a CARFAX against it.

beyond that....I am not too terribly mad at the situation.
I would do as another suggested, look for cameras, , and talk to business owners.

Insurance companies have so much money they would need a EPA permit to burn a little of it. Cost/benefit analysis. Costs them less to pay the claim than pursue the other party.

I feel your pain, my truck was rearended less than a year old on the same side (driver rear). I was similar damage to your pic, just included the bumper as well. Repair was more like $7k (the BLIS tail light alone is $1300), and I can tell you now, you won't really like how it turns out-to replace the bedside, they cut the welds on the front of the bed and then rivet the new bedside on...so if you look between the cab and bed you will see a vertical string of rivets (like 30 of them) to reattach the bedside to the bed front.
Sorry man!

I had my bedside, wheelhouse, and trim replaced as well through insurance ($3500ish). I have six extra rivets on the front of the bedside, but they are inside the rubber trim piece. Looks pretty OEM to me. They also replaced the front piece that goes along the front of the bed to the bottom of the cab. I watched some videos on the repair...seems like it depends on what types of rivets they use (and Ford keeps changing the official repair process too).

Here is my driver side bed/cab gap, these are the rivets that are totally visible by just glancing in that gap if standing about where you would to grab the backdoor handle. There are more under the seal (I think I counted 11 top to bottom that are visible). This repair was done by the local Ford dealer that has a factory body shop-I chose them to make sure there was never any finger pointing if there was a warranty issue and someone tried to claim the body shop screwed something up. Pardon the mud, I was out working on a muddy ranch the other day-this is after a stop on my way through town with the pressure washer. IMG_20211118_143655908.jpg

Do they do any drug testing at this dealership in Bend? On second thought even if I was stoned it still would look bad.
