If you've got money for an R, can't you buy whatever 35 inch tire your heart desires? I think it would look terrible, but everyone likes something different.

You and the rest failed to grasp “for different reasons”, but see below:

My statement on 35’s was toward Ford and allowing those who desire 35’s elect that as a delivered option.

How many of you, with a snark remark, actually use or ever need 37’s? Maybe to stroke an ego. The truck would be all it is but even better with 35’s, greater agility, clearance & efficiency. This is my 6th Raptor, simply a tool, not my ‘boasting token’. The 35’s on an ecoboost Raptor can manage well beyond majority of the competition, with 37’s+

What are the other reasons?
a) Truck sounds like an Ecoboost on steroids. Still has a rasp tone at WOT which is atypical to a V8 (my opinion). Yes, I understand I probably have an exhaust leak, this issue may clear once I bring to first service. I hope.

b) Ford provided nominal upgrades (vs. Ecoboost) for the flagship option & its price point. Threw in what should been a TT 5.2, but did an inefficient SC 5.2, along with new wheels & tacky aesthetics, nothing great on the grand scheme, in respect to quality & features when side by side to an ecoboost.

c) Wait until you’re passed up by a $45K Hyundai in your $114k & 720hp truck on the interstate once you quickly meet 113. Save the argument, I know the 37’s are speed limited, and the instability of them up top is absolutely significant. Another reason for 35’s. Maybe I navigate the dry west too frequent and love cruising at 120 in my Swiss Army knife.

Case in my point is your buying a red R logo & to say you own a V8 with 700hp+ (or your bank for those who finance). if you love yours great, but not what this thread is about. I don’t hate Ford or the Raptor which is why I’ll return to an Ecoboost power plant, tune (when that’s back on again), and be the poor guy next to you R holders :)
If you're concerned with hwy speed and blowing away Hyundai's, sounds like you'd be happier with a FP700 build.

Or, a car. That's why I asked him if he actually offroads. If you want speed, a truck isn't the answer.
I think he was just pointing out the irony of a 115-120K dollar truck with 720hp being limited to 113. Just because you want a higher top speed doesn't mean you don't offroad. That being said its not like if you took the limiter off you'd want to make a 160 mph high speed run on 37s lol....well maybe just once.

True, I'm just pointing out that the truck was built for offroad capability and the extra horsepower does make a difference under that 113mph threshold. There is nothing like having all that power when it counts most.

Idk that I'd want to go 160 on 37s often, but definitely at least once lol.

My opinion is unpopular as well; I wish I would've bought the 35. Got a 23 with 37 package and personally don't think its necessary unless someone is actually ripping offroad the majority. I do average 8.6 MPG and feel my motor may pop before 100k though. . . Looking for someone that has tuned their 23 by swapping ECUS to gauge experience. I have dumped enough money into parts now where I am thinking, "Its not like dealer is going to cover it anyways". I like to tell myself "but its not flashed. . . Heard some are finding a 22 ECU and getting it flashed. . .

- FMIC
- SPD Downpipes
- Plugs
- AFE Intake
- Trombone (Not installed)
- Wilwood Kit (Best Mod To Date)
- Charge Pipes/Boost Tubes
- Bunch of other stuff I cant think of; UCA's, Tie-Rods, bumpers/lights, bla bla bla

Been on the fence about the R for quite a few months. I used to have a Focus RS that I had a blast in; that lil car was making plenty of power at the low end. Living in SOCal at the time, Mountune did all the work. Lil car was pushing 500 ft/lbs, 450 HP and I have never been happier ripping around. This post help me decide and everyones comments. Gonna just spend the diff and either build a Shitbox Drift Car or something like a miata with an LS swap to get my V8 Fix. :p

I suspect that it would be a once in a lifetime experience. :) But it's moot because I don't see any way that you could get there with only 700hp. It's got the wind profile of a motorhome ....

Damn dude... 8.6mpg. I hit 100+mph nearly every time i commute and stomp on the gas pretty often and average 15.5 in Houston lol
