So... What do you think about the new Raptor?

The flanks are Fuckly!
Why would you put that turn down leading edge on the rear fender; first it does not line up with the existing body lines of the cap, and second that leading edge of the fender bulge will intercept debris thrown up by the front wheels and quickly loose all paint.
front fender bulge should terminate with the caps body line and the vent more like the Gen 1.
The nose should loose that dip in the center.
I'm good with the rear.
10 speed and interior are fine.
Transfer case is great!
V6TT made me go for a SC on my 12

Performance wise I'm sure the new raptor will run circles around the old one but the new raptor has only performance the looks arnt baja enough. imagine the new raptor coming around a turn in the desert with a screaming v6, it just seems out of place to me. I'd rather buy an f150 with the 5.0 and just make it like deagans new f150 build for add. Ford should at least have an option of a v8. I think ford is low key ******* up with the motor choice and some style ques on the exterior but the interior looks epic. I'm not trying to downplay the new raptor but ford had a chance to make an absolutely epic truck and they kinda dropped the ball. If it was a cost thing I'd take a less refined suspension with the plus of having a v8

Ford has gone all in with the whole Ecoboost thing so if they throw something different into their big bad Raptor line it might hurt EB sales. They are trying to say the EB is as rugged as their v8s and can handle the abuse in the Raptor. If they do not put it in the Raptor they are saying the EB isnt their best motor and that there are better options. Thats my take on it.

The truck is good looking save the tailgate. Biggest issue that makes it look like a street queen is the exhaust. That is for posers and dweeb geeks who cruise the pavement trying to look cool lol.

Would not last 30 minutes where I have to drive. Mash those wanna be tough guy tips FLAT!

It's Nice, but...........

Overall, I think it's nice. I am so mad though about the V8. A truck like this needs a V8. Also, I think the white stripping on the seats has to go. If this is truly going to be marketed as an Off Road Truck, white is one color that the interior doesn't need. The block where the white is would look better in blue, the Raptor Lettering in black. If there is someone out there with any juice though, please, please, please, let there be at least a V8 Option!!!! Please!

Seriously...some one give me a direct email to the ppl who made the Raptor.. Im going to email them and let them know how FUGLY the truck is...

They still have time to make it right... redesign fenders.. dual vent hood.. boxier box..

I know alot of ppl want the V8.. but Im good with Eco boost engine.. tune, down pipe, intake, and some straight pipe will make me happy..

Went to NAIAS y'day. Some stuff I like, some meh. Overall a 8 out of 10. It's not as distinctive a look as the gen1 clearly is from the other F150's. There is NO mistaking a Raptor from other F150's now....BUT with the gen2's, you'll have to stare at it for a sec to tell the difference and that's from a truck-spotter. Some other things (pics) I liked that I don't think were mentioned earlier or in other posts. Really like the new rear window slider. Looks like it has a retractable antenna. Not sure I like the side vents, they look fake, even if they aren't (and I had to ask) and are missing any special badging. The side vents are a particular area where guys have focused on for personalization...even with simple reflector tape behind the SVT....but alas, I think SVT is no more....Also, like the hood, but here again, not as distinctive as the gen1 hood with the side vents. No mistaking a gen1 with the vents, and one has to wonder if someone with a regular 17 F150 can retrofit a Raptor hood on their truck, not to mention the grille....bumper....etc???

Summary: Went to see the GM stuff, the RAM stuff and the Toyota stuff and Ford is so clearly way beyond all of them, I'm not sure why they are even trying with the **** Pro, Rebel (Rubble) and ... uh, what was the GM thing (Reaper-***** conspicuously missing in action from the show). They are all just weak-assed posers with funky grills and graphics and a tricky seat cover thrown in. The only truck that was even remotely worthy of any comparison was the RAM Power Wagon, which made the Rebel look tame. If you want an off road capable and ready truck from the showroom with a factory warranty, the Raptor still is way ahead of the others, and I am really not all that partisan (I still have 2 GM trucks the stable).

P.S. Just threw the F100 pic in cause it was a friggin cool truck.

Thanks for the pics!!
I also had a little trouble telling the difference between a regular F150 and the new Raptor. It is definitely not as aggressive as the current gen. I'm not feeling the grill or single center vent in the hood. I'm not saying I dislike the look.... it's just not as mean looking. It also doesn't "appear" as wide as the current gen. I don’t know if I just haven’t seen the right angle or need to see it in person. The current gen appears very wide from the front. I have people stop me all the time and ask what my Truck is now. The current gen definitely stands out in a crowd.

Just curious if you agree with me here, but I think Gen 1's differentiation (on appearance side of things) starts with the curved lines on the sheet metal - a wide truck that has no sheet metal lips or boxy angular bulges. A clamshell hood that melts into the front quarter panel. The two vents that no other truck has.

Why the Ford design team departed from the Gen 1 styling points is beyond me. But then again, maybe it's just me.

Now that I keep looking at this ugly truck... the Led marker on the flares bothers me..

I cant stand that Led marker... and why didnt they hide the front camera inside the grill this time?

and the bed looks so so so funky...
