please god let some variation of this motor make it to the raptor: Ford’s Voodoo V-8 Is the Most Interesting Engine of the Year

526 horsepower at 7500 rpm and 429 pound-feet of torque at 475...the result is a hellacious exhaust note unlike any other American V-8

I had said earlier in this thread or the V8 vs V6 trash talk thread the Lead Tech at my Ford dealer was telling me about a 5.2 V8 Ecoboost but you never know with them so it is true then. 2018 is the year to buy then bad ass V8 dropped in to 500lb lighter just about truck. Better suspension and transmission. The future could be bright. If Ford even led on though a V8 would hit the new Raptor who in their right mind would buy the 2017 model V6?

Even if Ford announced a v8 in a future model, they would still sell every 2017 that they made. People would want it because its new. Some people like the v6 idea. And realistically what percentage of all the raptor owners actually take it off-road? I bet its less than 25% and so those 75% of these "type of people" that just want a nice truck would buy the 2017.

Not to mention the Ecoboost has been tested at the Baja 1000. The V6 eco will put out as much power as you want. I think the engine will way above 600 horsepower potential via tune.

Just a tune? This isn't going to be the exact engine from the ford Gt lol.. I hope you know that. Imagine ford putting the same engine in its $400,000 dollar super car into a $60k truck? Deal of the century w/ a lot of pissed off rich guys... V6 Eco + tune will probably get you close to 500, which is still impressive but you'll need more than a tune to get over 600.. Rumor has it that the new raptor will be getting carbon fiber rims just like the Shelby gt350r's [emoji15]

Many of the class 7 owners/drivers that tried running the ecoboost were not happy, at all.
