I run a 12K Warn mounted to their Hitch Receiver mount. The portable winch mount. I keep it in a 1660 Pelican Case in the bed of the truck. If I need to winch, or anyone else, I pop it out of the case and use it. I have adapter cables so I can place the winch on anything that has a hitch.

That method works for me and allows me a lot of flexibility. The only time I needed a front mounted winch was when we were hunting and had to lower my quad off a 15' cliff. Quit the ride , but I was young and dumb.

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

you're a better man than me. I get agitated when I have to pick up the 10K with synthetic rope.

Id make someone else do it if i were using a 12K with steel cable. ;)

Quick question...

Does the wireless remote also operate the clutch? I’m looking at the Swarfworks winch mount and it looks like there will be no way to access the clutch lever on the winch.

I believe someone on this forum stated they rigged up a rod connected to the winch lever and could toggle it back and forth accessing it through the grill.

They may have drilled a hole through the lever, not sure.

Thanks for the idea, but I've decided to move away from the front mount approach for now!
