BTW, that took around an hour, from covering the truck cab & fuel tank to sliding the KHC bracket on. It should have been 20min (with the 6" cutoff wheel & 4.5in sanding wheel), but with my wrist in a brace due to carpal tunnel, it's 3X the time.
That being said, I highly recommend to remove the bed for this mod. I'm doing other things while it's off, so trying to get power tools in there with the bed on was a hard No.

Does anybody know if this steel block does anything? I guess it is for NVH? The rubber inserts that hold it in place were broken anyway, so I either replace them and reinstall the part, or it becomes a doorstop.

It's a frame harmonic damper. Throw it in the trash can, no need to replace/reinstall.

The D-side, however.... I'm reminded of a scene in "The Hurt Locker" where the bomb tech was asked about his method to diffuse bombs:

"the way you don't die, sir".

Well, I didn't die. Removed the fuel fill & vent lines at the tank, sealed the tank plastic filler fitting with a rubber cap & hose clamps. Used 3 welding blankets to protect the cab, fuel tank, & all the electronics, plus a spray bottle to keep 'em moist. Had a water bucket & garden hose in the neighbor's hand while I cut off and cleaned up the surface. And, this is NOT something to do with the bed on. WAY too much hassle to try and deal with getting power tools around them, or wiggling a MIG gun in there without starting a fire.

So... the Gen 2 Foxes will bolt right up, and allegedly will cycle properly (with Deavers & the KHC upper shock mounts), but there's a slight amount of trimming on the larger 3.0 shock shields to clearance the U bolt plate.

DONE, unfortunately the black rubber/stainless steel trim material isn't available locally, so I'm moving on to the bed stiffeners for now. I ended up using my 6" cutoff wheel & 4.5in sanding wheel to cut & clean it. BTW Does anybody know what those holes were for?20240721_190610.jpg
