Oh following now. Yep, it would be likely that those screw balls could of neglected to top it off. But would that explain also the reason it is difficult to get it into 1st on the console. I really have to struggle to engage it just to show up in the gauge cluster.
I would love to say its the shifter linkage, but I bet our trucks are all digital aren't they?

Well my service advisor will be back from vacation on Monday but in the meantime this issue seems more and more like the shifter is the issue. Looking at Tasca, the whole shift assembly is only around $200, do I have that right? Not sure if this is the one for mine or not or if SE matters.

My ESP warranty has a $200 deductible so thinking get this and do it myself or just bring to the dealer, have them do it and still pay $200.

Bringing it to the dealer this Friday. Issue is very annoying and I want it fixed. Will see what they say.

Only makes sense if they reinstalled everything and f'd it up, that they should fix it for free. I wouldn't pay shit for something they did wrong......

Update: Brought it in this morning. Got call, said the shifter cable is coming apart and needs to be replaced, not safe to drive. Truck will be in their shop over the weekend (console taken apart) as part will not arrive until Tuesday. On vacation next week, great.

Good thing I just bought another car.

Actually works out just fine. I was already planning to take the convertible mustang on vacation hence why I was trying to get it before my vacation. :)

They said the cable that goes into the transmission under the truck was where it was coming apart. Said it came loose and wasn't secured. Bet those frame swap idiots have somewhat to blame on that but no way to prove it. Will be covered under my ESP minus my deductable.
