There will be electricity rationing, and a quick walk back of any all electric mandate, be it government, private industry or a combination.
This. At which point those companies that have made a good-faith effort to be green are caught with their pants down. Maybe Ford is just talking the talk. I hope so. But I fear not. Time will tell.

No they won’t.
Even if the USA adopted a hard/fast rule requiring commercial vehicles to be electric by 2030, it won’t happen. Not without severe consequences.

First will be that contractors will start charging a lot more $$$ for routine stuff to afford a fancy electric. 2nd will be that power grids in at risk states like CA and TX will start crying uncle really fast. There will be electricity rationing, and a quick walk back of any all electric mandate, be it government, private industry or a combination.

A dryer, running on a 35-40a circuit costs about $10 / hour. electric F150 charges on an 80a circuit for several hours. How much per day is that going to cost?

Unless batteries make a quantum leap in efficiency and weight reduction in the next 10 years, we’re going to be on petrol-fuels for at least another generation or 2.
The worlds copper supply today to wind the stators is only at 34% of the need to electrify at current (no pun) expectations. Invest in copper companies and that will pay for the stupid ADMs…

Be interested in how many of these "I just ordered" or "just tried to order but ADM was to much" actually turn into allocations.

Pretty sure 90% of the dealers are taking a gamble they will get an allocation at all.

My dealer brought my shop lunch yesterday, (we do a ton of business together). They are an extremely big dealer over all (3 Ford dealerships) they are 99% sure they will get an allocation but they have no idea when.

Agreed that there seems to be a huge copper crunch coming. My question is what's the best way to play it? Close to producer? Close to consumer? Who makes the big bucks in a commodity shortage? I haven't found a compelling story either way. You?

I am against ADM too. But these are unique times… I just paid an AdM on a car for the first time in 30 years about 6 months ago and could currently sell it for more than I paid. Not a bad position to be in. Plus if you’re going to have one of the first R’s you’re going to have to pay to play

Dude my best friend is an engineer at what used to be called Ford that’s Fords plan. It’s like the White House telling everyone to go electric now the grid can’t handle it. I wish it wasn’t true things could change like the R was over two years production then it changed to two. Ford has gone full WOKE.

I’m simply pointing out that woke, EV hawking hucksters may not be interested in reality, but reality is definitely interested in them.

I got #1 spot on the R list at MSRP at a dealer in OK. Simultaneously at same dealer, I ordered a 2022 Raptor and submitted my order on Oct 1st right when the ordered banks opened. Paid $500 deposit and 10 months later it’s still “unscheduled clean”. I’m starting to think they fibbed about allocations…

Meanwhile on the R waitlist, the dealer went from allowing MSRP to adding $10k markup a couple months ago (I said that’s fine) to adding $50k and offering it to the public before I even had a chance to say yes/no.

I think it’s time for Ford to make an option for us consumers to just custom order trucks from the factory and pay for the shipping to our homes! No more useless middlemen stealerships!

Damn stealerships, they're just used car lots that do warranty & service work these days anyways.

My dealer quoted me 5k over ( obviously a good deal) too bad he has a allocation for 1. Still pissed after buying 3 Raptors including a gen 3.
