That is probably a good idea, haven't used the tent in 8 years and hasn't been sprayed in about 9-10 years. Think I used 4 cans of spray.

I've never sprayed the tent so figured it would be a good idea. so I'll get 6 cans. unless you have a 6 person tent?

Our tent is 7'x14'. I think it is rated at 6 people, but we rough it with a queen size air mattress in one end and papasan camp chairs and cooler in the other end.

I'm spraying it after I set it up so will still bring 5-6 cans or whatever the wife buys. Or I'll just sleep on the protected side haha

I'm winging it don't think I'll even bring the garman along I can't stand listening to it. besides we will be in the boonies no one except us and maybe a few other off roaders. Not like I'll case a big traffic jam. And I got an A+ at follow the leader in grade school. OK I'll probably bring it along just to find my way out if I'd happen to get lost and the truck nav quit's for some reason.

I have a question has anyone used there plugin in there truck before and will it support a crockpot? If we get out of here earlier I'll just wait until we get to camp.

IF it doesn't turn out we can burn the food and eat at the restaurant.

I forgot to ask so where is the closest gas station to the camp? So we can fill up the night before and be ready to go Saturday. Or when I get close I'll just start filling up at every station ha

Not sure about the plug in the truck supporting a crock pot, but there should be extension cords and such that we can run from the two full hook up spots. If you have a nav available I would bring it. Even if you don't load the routes it could still be useful if at some point you need to head back to camp because of the kids or whatever. Closest Gas is 5 miles South of the camp on 385. I marked all close gas and hospitals on the GPS files. That is were the concern came in of could you still navigate the route or would it try to keep taking you to hospitals and gas.

I had the factory sprayed in liner done and they sprayed over the bed bolts. So I don't want to cut the liner to remove them.

Crap... Well we do not anticipate this trip being very bumpy, so tie what you can in the back and put the remainder under/in the back seat area.

Yeah, I will tie down some stuff with factory tie downs in the bed. Then have most things in the bags to put in the back floor board of the truck. Just hate having all of the
stuff riding around in the floor like bags of tools, shovel, jacks, etc. just in case of a bad accident on the highway. Seen what heavy stuff flying around inside a cab can do.

Think I have talked myself into grabbing a 48" weatherguard on Saturday and putting it in. Peace of mind.

P.S. I'm still bringing bean's. RW I know you mentioned something about beans when were you thinking of eating them during the BQ? If so that's fine I think we will eat mine Friday when we get there so I don't have to store them. So if I'm right I'll have to look at the schedule again I suck at schedules I plan on doing the potluck thing Friday hot dog's beans. The idea of a potluck is you bring enough food for your self and a bit more everyone takes a little bit of everything? (Like use tablespoons for your serving spoon) This way not everyone has to participate if you don't want to. But there will be a big crock pot full of beans at my tent or wherever this potluck takes place.

there are a few in dead wood and lead. Pick you choice. Plus the one wifey said south of tha camp.

For those spraying your tents, Thompson water seal works very well too. The stuff you use for a deck and such.

I know that Wsi came up with a way to mount the shovel in the rear using strong Velcro... But picking up the box definitely doesn't hurt..lol

There is a way to get extra use out of the tie downs. Pretty sure somebody on FRF has posted a picture, I will try to find it later. Basically you braid a rope between two tie downs. If you do it right you end up with a bunch of locations(loops) you can anchor things to either with gear ties or velcro straps etc. Works real slick for things like shovels not so much for a heavy jack. I will try to find a picture to show what I am rambling about.
Also, cutting around the bedliner is not so bad. I had mine sprayed then put in the D-rings.
