Every now and then when getting on the throttle at a low speed I get the sense that there is a slack in driveline and it SLAMS. Almost like I'm getting hit from behind!? I don't know if I'm hitting the gas right as its shifting into first or something but it happens once every two weeks or so.

Ha, guess I'm not the only one!

My 2012 Raptor has about 300-400 miles so far. The other day there was an accident on the interstate causing traffic to back up for about 5 miles. I got stuck in it and noticed my truck shifting very roughly (jerky) from 1st up to 2nd and from 2nd down to first in stop-and-go traffic. Has anyone else experienced this and is it normal? Is the adaptive system still learning my driving habits, and if so, could this have something to do with it? Thanks guys.

My 2011 did that from day one. The 2-1 downshift, not so much. All that said, about three weeks ago at 34,736 miles, the valve body in the transmission gave out and the truck went into limp home mode. Dealer kept the truck for four days but, ultimately replaced the valve body under warranty. Two weeks and 600 miles later, the same funky 1-2 upshift is still there. Dealer contends this is normal...Guess we'll see if this new valve body gives up after another 30k miles.

Update from the OP: I installed a tune from 5 Star and the shifting is much improved. Not yet sure if the issue is totally gone, but so far so good. I'm currently running the 93 economy tune btw.

Dubbs and Hocker, I don't think you guys are experiencing the same thing. I think the OP is saying when just under a little bit of acceleration. (At least that's how it is for me)

When you floor it, it'll downshift a gear. That's why you feel that "clunk" type feeling.
