I love mid perch. Before it, Had a bad nose drive on hard braking compressed my suspension on double sand wash berms and we landed so hard. I thought my front end fell off. Checked and found skid plate was an upside down U shape and cracked passenger fender against window pillar. Did mid perch right away.
After mid perch, nose dive way less and unnoticeable, on road handling a little tighter and controlled, not the soft roll as stock. I drive really hard and fast on road and really noticed the difference. Off road at TRR14 I hit stuff as hard as my first stock incident and no problems. I kept hitting it harder each lap as my skid plate barely got damaged. I did install RPG stage 3 before TRR and that improved the rear.

That's the route I am about to go!!.. what do you have, SD or HD? Heard the SD has sagging issue.. afraid HD will make the ride too hash since 90% time the bed is empty.. :hmmm2:

I still miss Top perch on the '11!!! I did mid on the '13 because of the Torsen. I know the ride is not as Cadillacish as stock and drifts more in the turns, maybe due to the tough as nails Toyo's, but she knocks out the whoops and jumps a helluva a lot better than stock and can cross the Colorado river. Haha
Like BDRAG said I will probably do some mod to the rear springs when the new gal gets a ******!

I have The SD springs. Waiting to see all this stuff about sagging and whose seem the best. I love the ride better off road and it lessens the bouncing rear on concrete freeways. So far I'm happy with them.

Does this make BDRAG a terrorist? :hmmm2:

NOPE! I just like a vehicle that drives great under MY driving conditions. Like I have said, to each their own.

I guess the best way to say it is, IF YOUR GONNA DO IT, DO IT RIGHT not half assed. Spend the cash and go for it! DO ALL 4 CORNERS not a half assed front semi fix. If ya off road aggressively, buy the right components and go for it.

This all came about due to failing OEM shocks at 40,000 miles. It all started with the used set that was at mid perch already. You see, being a cheap bastard limits me and my choices. If this was 3 years ago and our house income had not dropped by 60% like it has due to this wonderful economy, I would probably have been on several new items below bodywork. Sigh!

Like I said earlier, I did TRR1. I did my best lap at 1hour 23 minutes. That's not slouching and my skid plate got a few scuffs but its still intact even though I have a nearly new replacement still in the garage. Learn the abilities of what ya drive. If you over drive it, change it for the better for your use. Sounds like you have.

Few things to consider :

Is this on a SCAB or a SCREW. I suspect a difference in degree of impact mod perch will have on each .

Front sway bar connected or dis-connected :

I have Mid perch and the following is my experience :

Mid perch front sway bar in . Ride was out of synch and a little jarring ;missed stock ride over all.

Mid perch with front sway bar disconnected : ride and performance back in synch and I prefer the drivability and handling with this set up.

This was 25k ago . Tire wear 0 issue. 20k of those miles on stock BFG's and 5K on MTR's. Tire pressure I both cases maintained over 40 psi cold . Run BFG's at 45 , MTR's at 40 to 43.

just thought I would mention impact of sway bar to add to this great post .

My Raptor is a SCREW. Good point about sway bar. I did not disconnect. On the street I want it. If I did a lot of off road and rock crawling I would defiantly try it.
