I replaced my front bumper within the first month of my truck being delivered. So even though the dealer installed the bracket, not a big deal.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I'm trying to figure out how to take off that dreaded front license plate bracket. Those two flat screws/rivets on the top look like they'll be difficult to remove and want to avoid any possible damage.

I read on this thread that they can be drilled out. Can someone explain further? Do I just drill with a 3/16 down the middle of that hole in the middle?

I'm definitely planning on plugging it with the recommended plug as on this thread.

Thanks in advance!

Yes they are indeed rivets drill the middle out with a larger drill bit and once you get far enough the head will pop off remove the plate holder and you can either drill the remainder out (sized correctly)or push them in but they do mushroom a bit. Take your time and tape up the area if your concerned.

Anther tip is to just get the Ford OEM touch up paint and paint the plugs - will blend right in!! I too use the smaller head plastic plugs and they work great. The factory holes (pre rivet install) are pretty small so get the plastic plugs with the smallest (head area) you can....

Every time in in an Auto parts store Pep Boys, Autozone, etc. I'm always on the lookout for the plastic plugs, fasteners, etc. Have a whole drawer full of them and generally have the right size for when I need one.

I just stumbled across this thread and wanted to say thanks. I bought a 2018 Raptor a few weeks ago that had the bracket installed. We don't need a front plate here in PA so I wanted to get rid of it. I just drilled out the rivets with a 3/16" bit and spray painted the plastic plugs I bought at Lowes. Once they dry, I'll pop them in and I think it should look great.

EDIT: I used a metallic black stainless spray paint and it blends absolutely perfectly. I couldn't be happier.
