the moment they say… welllllll it's more cost effective to do a bedcage, i lose all interest in a cantilever… if i'm paying double for a minuscule gain (that i probably won't notice), if any - what's the point? hopefully KHC can answer these questions and sell me on it! haha

If I was going to do either I would notch the frame. These trucks need more uptravel. Spending all the money and not gaining that uptravel seems like a waste to me. But that's just me.

X2!

Having been there and done that with added down travel, I couldn't agree more.

Setting aside the usual Birdman/Stoner shenanigans I would like to learn more about why you feel this way. I'm not predisposed to either direction, in fact at this point I would tend to agree with you. I fully understand the geometry and operation of a cantilever rear suspension, its benefits and its draw backs. With the foreplay out of the way, please expand on your comment.

Those of u who have 3.0 will not have to by new shocks. That saves 2500 right there. As far as needing different valving its looking like it won't be needed. Remember the mounting angle of the stock shock location decreases its efficiency and is valved appropriately. Similar affect happens with the ratio of the lever. More info on this by the end of the week.

My goal with this is the following

Gain 16in of travel without:

Cutting bed
Changing shocks (assuming 3.0s)
Building a bed cage and loosing cargo space
Not have to change to spring under set up

I am not ready to release this kit until it is thoroughly tested. For an idea on pricing we are probly going to end up around 2k for the kit but still need work out a few more details. Included in kit will be:

Forward shock mount
Lever mount and brackets
Levers
3/4 rod end kits with tube for links and mounting tabs
Long travel shackles
Brake lines for whole truck
Quad limiting straps and mounting tabs
All hardware

Just going off my experience and the different leaf springs I have used in the last year, the set that has worked the best is the one that raises the rear and increases up travel. Take a look at how my truck sits in the pic. Her ass is way up in the air. The ride difference is noticeably better even though I think it looks like crap. I'm willing to look like a dork to have a nice ride.

I've also consulted with people that let me know notching the frame is the only way to get the most out of these trucks when increasing rear travel. If I am going to spend the money on increasing travel I'm going to get as much as I can out of it!

There you go guys 2k is not that bad at all IMOP. sounds good dave a great option for guys that don't want to cut their bed. and think about one 3.5 with 16" of travel would cost you the same. i think this is great for the guy in the middle.:pepper:

Plus im sure notching the frame is an option you could do with this kit if you really wanted to.

Just guessing here but would the goal be to have this on the market by the Havoc event?
