After reading and analyzing everything I could find, on the bent Frame issue, one thing just keeps nagging me. All the crazy stuff you see on YouTube, Raptors jumping, sunk in the mud and so on, why only now has this bent frame issue been noticed or happened! Something in the back of my mind is nagging me! I have seen this somewhere before. After running through dozens of YouTube video I found it, back in September 2009 WebRides TV posted a Raptor review, in the review about the 1:07 mark there is a white Raptor in semi slow motion hitting a kicker hard and only the drivers side rear wheel, is it just my eye’s or when the truck stops bouncing the drivers side of the bed, corner closest to the cab no longer matches the other side and no longer sits lever, looks like the bed is twisted. AKA Bent Frame! It looks like they had the same damage as the Outlaw Raptor run guys did, from the same type of rear impact. Now let’s say I’m right, why wasn’t this reported by the reviewing crew, or was it, but covered up! No way to know for sure, but watch the video a few times, start and stop it on various bounces caused by the kicker and you tell me! This could possibly be the “SMOKING GUN”

:redx:I just watched that video about ten times, slowed it way down....and cannot see any difference in how the bed aligns to the front of the truck. I don't buy it.

I watched it a few times and think maybe it was the camera or angle of the truck. When I first watched it I thought "by God he's right"...lol.

"Smoking gun"?! If you mean did someone ever bend a frame on a Raptor before Framebending Weekend the answer most certainly is yes. The issue is not will the frame bend or will the truck break when driven really hard. The issue is how hard was the truck driven when the frame was bent (the truck was broken)?

How many more complaints and questions of Ford's frame design will it take before the complainers and questioners begin to understand that the frame bending is an aberration caused by what Ford will certainly say is "driver abuse"?

If you want to know why frames that were bent during editors' Raptor desert test drives weren't reported then you don't realize how hard these editors drive vehicles when they're testing them for their publications and websites. And you aren't familiar with the many (many) stories of editors destroying vehicles during test drives.

There's an unwritten rule that the editors don't report on their idiotic abusive driving and the manufacturers continue to let them abuse and destroy their test vehicles.

Here we go - just as I predicted. One Raptor owner, who is in denial about how hard he drove his truck and how he caused the frame bending damage that he's blaming Ford for due to their "flawed frame design" has his internet complaints picked up by another website as "news". And that "news" will be picked up by others and so on. This guy, who abused his Raptor offroad is now abusing the Raptor online virtually driving the truck down the road to early product death due to premature termination by Ford.

BlueSVT should be poroud of what he's "accomplished". Here's the "article" - do you see anything wrong with the "facts" presented?

Although Ford promotes its F-150 SVT Raptor as a hardcore off-roader, the purpose-built truck is turning out to be a bit of a softy. Several Raptor owners have complained of their beds coming out of alignment, with the truck’s rear frame section apparently to blame.

The Raptor’s bed-alignment problems have been noted on Web sites before, but a recent post on RaptorForumz.com has garnered some added attention. A group of 14 Raptor owners recently set out on an off-road adventure, but only four of those trucks returned with their frames intact.

As illustrated in the pictures below, most of the trucks returned from the off-road trip with their beds at a rearward angle. Although Ford has yet to officially diagnose the problem, forum moderator BlueSVT (who also happens to own one of the damaged Raptors) blames the bed sagging issue on the Raptor’s weak rear frame.

The Raptor’s rear frame section isn’t fully boxed, making it weaker than the rest of the truck. To make matters worse, the non-boxed section of frame thins above the rear axle to accommodate bump stops.

Under normal driving conditions, the rear axle has plenty of clearance under the bump stops. However, when the Raptor gets on the kind of terrain it was designed for, the rear axle can easily slam against the bump stops, bending the weaker part of the frame.

The frame problem appears to be widespread, with plenty of documentation on the RaptorForumz Web site. Ford has yet to comment on the phenomenon, but will likely have to answer to angry owners in the coming weeks. If BlueSVT’s assessment of the issue proves to be accurate, it begs the question as to how Ford missed such a glaring problem during the Raptor’s development.

Well it must be gettin around if a member of our local "drag racing" forum found the Z thread and posted it...in the general bs section pretty much directed to me. Is it me or is this thread just being ****** around the web by a bunch of Anti-Ford goobers?! Most the stuff you read about the Z link posted on non-Raptor sites is just a bunch of Ford slammin trash talk. Most of the people talkin have more than likely never seen one in person or rode in one. So Im just gonna ignore it. If someone makes a brace Ill buy it, if Ford decides to fix em...cool Im not gonna sweat it, I always make a pre-run if Im gonna hit over 40-50 mph its just common sense. I dont mind catchin air but Im gonna know its comin ya know?!

Well said, the only people who seem to be logical about the issue is those people on SVTO and Ford Raptor Forum. The rest is as you say, seems to be people slamming Ford. I wonder if it's some 15 mins of fame thing?

Please don't bring logic into the discussion. A small number of owners are busy blaming the manufacturer - now's not the time to talk about "pre-running" or driving within the limits of the vehicle - SHEESH! :D :D :D
