So glad your daughter and yourself were ok. I hope you drive more carefully in the future when you ave precious cargo aboard.

Your so fortunate you did not hit the trees, as they are unforgiving!

On a side note, I would have thought the Raptor designed for racing off-road and jumping would have handled going off the side of the road a little better.

I remember a friend in Ohio? I think....it was a while ago. Anyways, apparently some states say in an accident, if their is no damage to your vehicle you are free to leave the scene of an accident (I guess they are figuring you can leave since you weren’t a part of the accident). Don’t really understand how that works but weird....possibly your state is like that? Hopefully not for you.

If it was me I wouldn’t want it totaled. At least at my ford dealer, a repaired truck is as good or better than new. They are perfectionists. I would want to keep my baby unless it was very very bad.

As far as air bags deploying, that’s not a reason to total a vehicle any more. Had 2 different friends in Toyota’s (go figure both Toyota’s) have accidents, both had air bags deploy, and in both cases the trucks were not totaled. One of the trucks was 4 years old, 130,000 miles. Still not totaled.

The Raptor is totaled. Maybe switching to a GT350....we'll see. Thanks everyone for the support and information.

From those pictures, I am shocked they totaled out a $70k truck for that.

Glad you both are ok. How about get your Gen2 fixed and drive it into your (or a) dealer and see what they would offer you? Maybe 50-70% of what a 2017 or 2018? If I could afford that move, I would consider it as I tend to hold on to cars for 10-15 years at least. By then, I’ve long forgotten how much I paid for it brand new.
