Is that it for parts needed? do you have any pictures of your truck with the Raptor suspension installed. What perch did you use.

The front coilovers as well (of course) AND axles, if you have 4 wheel drive. I currently have a set of Raptor axles, I know the splines fit and the length "looks" correct. I'll be trying them this weekend before I know for sure.
You also need longer brake and vacuum lines; although, you can get away without them...

I'm on mid-perch... but I have Fox 3.0's that I'll be installing in the next few days... they are currently at RPG getting their re-valve.

Which F-150 do you have? If you don't mind me asking why not just get a raptor? Did you just "have" to have a king ranch or something?

I am considering doing this. Not because I _Had_ to have a king ranch or some other luxury item. But because I Have to have a Regular Cab. Shorter wheelbase, and a shorter overall length than even the Supercab raptor, and much, much better outward visibility. Ever try looking over your shoulder to change lanes? Pretty huge blind spot eh? It's about halved, or more for the Regular Cab. When I remove the tailgate I can just look over my shoulder and see exactly where my rear bumper is.

Plus the Regular Cab is much lighter (About 1000 lbs), and I still have a full 6.5' bed. I've test driven a couple of raptors recently, and none of them feel any faster than my 5.0 with 35" tires. I am guessing it's all in the weight.

Plus the parts can be had for relatively cheap.
$450 - Fiberwerx Fiberglass fenders and Valance
$500 - Paint the fenders (this is a rough guess)
$126 Left, $126 Right - Raptor Upper Control Arm
$369 Left, $369 Right - Raptor Lower Control Arm
$223 Left, $202 Right - Raptor CV Axles
$54 Left, $53 Right - Raptor Tie Rod Ends
$700 - Used Fox Shocks from Ebay or here (could be even cheaper)
$220 - Icon rear shocks

Still have to address the rear springs, but apparently the rear Raptor springs suck anyway, so we're even on that.

Do all of the install myself, and it comes out to be $3292. All bolt on. Add that onto the cost of my Regular Cab, ~$24,500, and you have $27,800
I could do it even cheaper if I found take-off parts from someone on here who has upgraded theirs.

I can't understand why people don't do this more often? For the front torsen diff? For the electronics? What do electronics get you, when I can turn off my AdvanceTrac (which actually just raises the threshold limits very high. They can't legally allow you to completely remove stability control)? Aside from allowing you to slip and slide around, what do the electronics get you? Hill descent control? Guess I'm old school in that I've always used the brakes when going downhill.

realistically I'm never going to jump my vehicle anyway. Too costly. And this setup leaves enough cash left over to buy an ATV, which can jump.

Anyway, I'm debating doing this as a summer project versus just buying a Raptor outright (ordering a SuperCab through one of those dealers selling at Invoice). The raptor has more resale, but much more initial cost.

By the way, I am very much looking forward to knowing if the Raptor axles will bolt into place. If so that makes the conversion so much easier.

With a raptor you get off road mode which is way better then I'd ever imagine it would be..the interior features are the same as a platinum. Pretty sure rear axle is beefier then regular F150s and brakes..and a few more things im sure. But the biggest reason I think is well. Its a raptor.
And I'll take a crew cab over a single cab anyday. Not being rude but I just hate the way a single cab looks. Not to mention no room for anything. In a raptor you don't need to look before changing lanes people just move :D

And by the way I'm in no way bashing what you're doing I think its very economical and cool. Just don't put raptor badges on it

And I hate the way SuperCab and larger looks. Looks is totally subjective, and the Regular cab has more than enough room for my needs. Anything more would be a waste.
As far as interior features, I've never really cared much about electronic doo-dads. I love the seats though, and I just bought a set of seats from a member on here. Anyway, you didn't buy a Raptor for the interior.

So what does Off-Road mode really do? Sell me on it, come one. I'd really like to know how it's different than just disabling AdvanceTrac (which the 2012 and newer got updated programming), and using Tow/Haul mode to increase the shift points?. Or even manual shifting the transmission.

About the only thing it adds that I am aware of is hill descent control. Is that it?

*lolololololol* Why would I do that? I wouldn't even be using the Raptor hood, grill, or fenders?

You don't gotta worry about me making a "clone" and lowering your guys' resale value. Not my style. I'm more interested in functionality.

I'm also not sold on the idea anyway. The idea of having the full factory warranty is awfully appealing (as in from just buying a SuperCab Raptor, and getting used to the extra length).
Or the idea of just buying an ATV for my fast off-road endeavors and keeping my truck stock.

So aside from buying those seats, I haven't moved forward on any decisions yet.

Your truck is 6.5" shorter than our scabs... That's not very significant. Where do you live? I bet there is a Raptor guy near you that would give you a real ride, not a test drive from a dealership. Also anyone on this forum will tell you that this motor is pretty dull until you tune it. Before I put a progressive pack on, I could spin my 37's .

Your trying to justify to us ( Raptor owners) your choice of a reg f150 over a Raptor.

Sorry, that want my intention. I just get defensive when it comes to Regular Cabs. I really don't like SuperCabs or longer. But as you know, SuperCabs or longer are by far the most popular.

I know all of the specs. 6.6" longer doesn't sound like much, but the Raptors feel much larger when I've been on my test drives.

My intention wasn't necessarily to justify my choices. keatonskidmore had asked why not just buy a raptor instead of putting Raptor suspension onto an F-150. I was trying to give him an example of why someone would do that. Either budgetary since you can start with a much cheaper trim level, or even a 2009 that's not worth nearly as much, and go from there. Rather than buying one new.
Or size wise, since the size options in a Raptor are very limited. I want a Regular Cab raptor. Someone else might want a SuperCrew with a 6.5' bed. Someone else might just need an 8' bed.
The idea here is to get 90% of the performance of a stock raptor, with alot more options available. It'll never be 100%, but it will be a marked improvement over the crap suspension in the stock F150

I also have a tendency to write long replies. But let me re-iterate:, modifying stock F150 suspension with raptor components does not match or exceed the factory capabilities of the Raptor. Refinforcing the suspension mounts is out of the budget, for example. But it can improve the stock F150 greatly, and give you guys a market for your take-off parts.

Oh yeah, and I'm located in Minneapolis, MN. Isn't that on my profile? Just checked, and I never filled out that part. Sorry.

Yes, you can build one heck of an F150 with Raptor parts. But it will never be as versatile on or off road like the Raptor. Ford/SVT has done an amazing job of integrating all the electronics on the Raptor. Transmission, ABS, traction control, locking diff, and off road mode. All these things combined makes the Raptor the swiss army knife of the truck world..

Like greg said, so much thought and engineering went into just the off road mode switch that it makes my head hurt. The shifting is just perfect its like it reads your mind. There are just a ton of features raptors have that f150s do not

Even though here
http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f5/what-heck-does-off-road-mode-do-2222/
it sounds like most of you guys don't use Off Road Mode?

Anyway, so that main difference is in the computers is what you guys are saying.
