That is a matter of opinion but what is not that they will run the pants off of the Ford 6.2 and get 35% better mpg's even with a 6inch lift and 35 inch tires.

:rondod: Lets go out in the country and see if you can follow me around my little track. That butt ugly chevy street queen is gonna need a ***** for me to pull your ass out!!:anitoof:

I looked at the 2014 Silverado at the Chevy site. Neither the 2500HD nor the 3500HD is available in a supercab version. All they have is short cabs and crew cabs. Their current engine is a 6.0L. In the 2500HD the specs are 360 hp and 380 ft-lbs, and in the 3500HD the specs are 322 hp and 380 ft-lbs. Those are pretty anemic figures compared to the Raptor's 6.2L. If that's all Chevy can get out of a 6.0L, then Ford has little to worry about when the 6.2L Chevy engine becomes available.

Well my 6.2 2014 GMC Denali has the 6in BDS suspension with the remote Fox and coil overs, the custom tune from Diablo a couple of weeks ago (had not done a 6.2 truck yes PCM done waiting on TCM tune now), exhaust done, fender flairs done, of course wheels and tires and the RX catch can plus a few other things like N-Fab step bars. Will be getting into the motor for cams in a few months. The new 6.2 DI motor and the transmission that is mated to it is awesome.

The interior is just plain awesome---and is very quiet. Ford is going to have to do something with the gas hog 6.2 or use a different motor for the next gen Raptor. Know you have never driven one but if you do you will be retracting you engine comments pretty quickly lol.

Will look at the new Raptor when it come out but if I can get much better performance and at 70 mph 19.8 mpg avg the Raptor which is common here and are mainly street queens (here in DFW see them everyday) there is competition.

Unlike 99.99% of the people who will comment as knowing I have owned both a significantly modified Raptor and the new GMC 6.2 direct injection (Stingray motor pretty much different intake and tune) that has been modified. Yes the Raptor is better in the New Mexico for ride environment and at the place in Texas it still is except that it is a little wide for the roads lol. The fit and finish now there is a difference big time---the diamond white paint on the GMC is flawless for example. The black metallic on the Raptor was beautiful except for all of the orange peel. Would have loved the Ford color on my GMC but that is impossible.

Well---not going to happen. Now bring your truck out to my place in NM and see if you can hang with my highly modified 2013 Rubicon? You will be getting a dozer or a crane to get you out (a winch not ***** will not work). Been there done all of that. I have to go off road and my vehicles are purpose built not a goober bubba truck if you will.

Rubicons are really over rated. If your such a Ford hater what you lurking on here for. Hang out with folks who understand your need for butt ugly vehicles. I for one don't see the love in a squared up street queen. Now I will totally agree with your village idiot avatar!:happy160:

I have more miles on a highly modified Raptor on road and off road than you may ever put a relatively stock one if yours is not stock. I speak from experience not blowing hot air out of my aft end. Now you were saying?

I am going to be nice and not systematically chew you up and spit you out because you are new and do not know any better than to pull my chain.

Now just leave it alone and you will be better off.

Oh the only thing left stock on my Rubicon is the sheet metal and seats pretty much sorry but reading the magazines and forums an expert does not one make.

Hey I am so happy for you. I have been driving chebbys longer than you have been alive. They lost me when they made ME pay their unions to save their sorry asses along with our glorious President. I will NEVER EVER own another GM product. As for the 6.2 that Chebby makes. It will never amke a lot of power unless you boost it. Stick a blower on it and you have some decent power but the stock heads are JUNK!!

Again more hot air out of your rear end Counselor:****: --- the DI is different than the 6.2 last year. I had on of those as well in a 2010 Chevy. Now go and conduct proper Discovery and get back to me later as I prepare to file my Pleading..

I hope you do not submit filings with the "speling" errors contained in the posts above. Got to go do some things now but remember you were properly advised..

They are all good trucks. I own a '92 6.5 turbo-diesel 2500 Chevy. it is a great truck, and has over 300,000 miles on it. I also own a 2001 Z-71 1500 GMC. trouble free and very comfortable for over 200,000 miles. I have a 2003 Suburban that has almost 200,000 on it. These are all great trucks. The later ones have the 5.3 engines. I do not need another truck at all.

However, I saw the Raptor, and had to have one. My Blue Flame Screw is on a train headed South as I type this! I hope to have it by Christmas.

I've owned (and still own) both Chevy's and the Raptor.

just some top level thoughts:

1. Interior on the chevy's, on average is better than the fords. less rattles, more thought out design in general. (face it guys, the leather on our seats really sucks, wear cracks after 8000 miles is a bit silly)
2. Round Peg, Square Hole - Chevy really needs to understand the meaning of the term, "wheel arch"
3. Off road - well, out of the box nothing really compares. Sure you can drop 15k into a chevy to make it as good as a raptor, but then take that same 15K and make your Raptor even more awesome
4. gas mpg - much like my F430, I just don't ask. if I want mpg I drive something else

If I had wanted pickup just for the street and gardening and such, I probably would've bought a Z71, like my last 2 pickups and 6 suburbans.

I don't think the Raptor is the best street truck, it does look badass, but the width and gas mpg would push me to another truck for street use. That said it is my daily driver, and I put up with the issues on it while hoping there is a nice muddy field on my daily travels I can go tear up.

peace and love,
Ducatisps
