This thread became pointless really quick!

  • The 6.2L not being available in the Chevy has nothing to do with Raptor sales.
  • A lifted GM truck does not compare to even a stock Raptor.
  • Comparing a Rubicon to a Raptor... really? Apples to oranges!

Then the nonsense about old man fights and child labor? WTF? Why so much trash talk? The BS got so deep that I couldn't even finish reading the whole thread.

I do have one question for the OP. If you already have a Denali, Raptor, and Rubicon that are all three "highly modified," why do you want a Silverado? Especially if the Denali is a 2014 and already has a GM 6.2L?

Hey Boss. As you probably know I've been satisfied with my Chevy trucks and I've been considering buying a '14 for my oldest since he'll be driving soon. So I've started researching, test driving and reading the forums and from what I've seen so far, I am not going to buy a '14 GM truck. The forums are full of new owners who are pissed off about front end vibrations, leaking coolant, warped dashes, poor fuel mileage, poorly fitting doors and tailgates, dash lights not working, movement in seats, intermittent cold starting problems, annoying switch from V4 to V8 operation, etc. Sounds like GM is having some serious quality control issues. Some of this is to be expected on a new model year and I'm hoping they get the kinks worked out eventually.

Not busting on you at all. But you may want to wait a little while.

I read those as well--the engine issues are with the 13 model for the most part. The new engins this year are DI. As far as mine goes I cannot tell when it goes into 4cyl mode and I have tried. Even with the new can on the back and resinator off I cannot hear it on the road. The 6.2 is a different anmial than the 5.3(would not or did not consider a 5.3) and there are not very many around right now because of a production issue as they are common to the Stingray as well. Mine is smooth as glass at 120 which is fast as I will take it until the next trip to the ranch in NM.

So far mine is 100% perfect so far and I am a very picky sob as you know.

I test drove the Denali 6.2L truck and the thing was like a rocket ship almost scary, I forgot I was in a truck for a moment, felt more like a Camaro with all that power.
I like what Ford has done with the Raptor so much that I bought one over the GM but have to wonder with its version of the 6.2L lacking power and being such a pig on gas.

That was my opinion as well when I drove mine. No matter what I say some will refuse to believe it. Bottom line is until you drive one esp modified like mine has been it is only emotion speaking. When I buy vehicles now emotion is not really a part of it or what people will think of me when I am driving it. The complements I get on my new truck are about the same as I got on the Raptor so that part of the experience is not a factor.

If Ford gets it together with the new Raptor then I will buy and modify another one. For the time being this Denali 6.2 has the best "base" engine to do what I like to do to them. NA horsepower that will have a pronounced lope at the stoplight  Going to make a call today to Mast here in Texas who I have bought cams from before to see what mid range applications they have for the new DI motor. Problem with that is always the tuning which for GM here in the DFW area that is not an issue with several people who do a great job while it is on the dyno! When I am done will be a hard running truck around 500hp or so with the power band in the lower to mid range where I use it the most.

Had a lot of fun with the Raptor despite all of the issues I had with it!

Look at the date---the Denali was the first 6.2 that was available in the metallic white. Your comment about the lifted truck may be true. I have replaced the suspension in the front not just "lifted" and have driven both quite a bit off road have you??? Did not think so but my Raptor was not stock except for the first week so I do not really know how it would perform off road. In the stock configuration it would have gotten torn up because of ground clearance issues where I have to drive so it was modified and quite nicely I might add.

At least Wilson somewhat knows what he is talking about with the Raptor you on the other hand can't find your ass :Plugged: with both hands from what I have read from your posts.:whip: You do know that there is an optional Depends dispenser you can put in your truck in case you soil the ones you have on when you go onto your "track" as you say. Be careful after driving your Raptor for a couple of weeks I am sure you are completely proficient and ready to tackle the "trophy trucks"..

Wilson--sorry if the truth hurts but it is what it is. Ford, GM, Dodge---all are the same I have no brand loyalty just buy the best base truck to mod at the time for my needs. When the new Raptor comes out for a year this one will be ready to trade back and maybe I will get another one.
