did your truck fall off a mountain ? ive had none of these issues . and I would bet my house ,ford tech 1 knows a million times more about these trucks than u do . and he's right the aluminum is far stronger than the steel .that comment alone tells me everything .

aluminum is stronger than steel?

Aluminum is not stronger than steel. Nothing to debate, these are physical properties of metal. If you are saying it is steonger per unit weight, sure. But the body on these trucks is paper thin to save weight.

If ford tech knows so much, he should know the cam phaser is a MAJOR issue. Hence Ford is extending warranties. Maybe dealer screwed up. Either way, truck had been in shop a long time for quite a few issues. Phasers replaced first, 12 months later cel and sensor replaced. Couple months later cel, solenoid replaced. Several months down the road and rattle back with prolonged turnover on startup and back to phaser replacement again. Not making this crap up.

Not taking sides here but this whole aluminum vs steel debate made me curious as hell which is stronger, looked at multiple sources and steel is definitely stronger than aluminum.

By using different alloy mixtures and heat treating them, the Ford engineers have made actually the aluminum even stronger than the steel that it is replacing. u both should go back to school .also the old steel is denser than the aluminum ,so u can use more of the stronger aluminum panels ,and still be lighter . steel vs aluminum in a vacuum ,steel is stronger .but we r talking ford steel vs new ford aluminum ,the aluminum is way stronger .

Exactly. The aluminum panels are thicker than the steel panels, hence why they're stronger. Apparently some people can't comprehend that the composition and thickness of the panel are relevant.

the heat treating and alloy mixtures also make a huge difference .the heat treating being paramount

If you’re going to pull the back to school card can you explain how your English teachers allowed you to move forward, your syntax/grammar is horrendous.

The F-150 aluminum body panels are almost twice as thick (1.7x) than the previous steel panels. That is what makes it stronger. The body is anything but "paper thin", you're delusional.

The cam phaser recall, TSB, and resolution have been discussed extensively on this forum. Your conspiracy theories and lack of understanding the system are irrelevant.
