I don't think valve float was a problem at all, and still feel that its the factory torque to yield head bolts that just can't hold up under boost. Its not the first raptor i've seen with this problem and most of them are supercharged so I'm thinking there is a common problem. Here are the carnage pictures

Who's tune was it on? I doubt the heads lifted and caused all this.

Yikes! Sorry to hear about your engine. Please let me know if there is anything we can assist you with.

Yeah, I don't think the heads would lift at a boost level that should be safe for the stock engine.

Yeah, looks like the head gasket was being flame-cut and then the piston broke.

Local showroom had a 6.2 piston/rod on display. Impression was: cheesy junk.

sorry to hear the engine went down. But look on the bright side, now you have the opportunity to put it back together with parts that can hold up to turning up the wick more.

A side question, and may help you put a couple bucks towards the build, but are you (or anybody else with a blown 6.2) willing to sell a piston/rod assembly from your stock blown motor? I have several pistons/rods from a blown 5.4 I swapped in a Lightning (I think 6 of the 8 were still good). Makes a cool paperweight for my desk. But I'd like to get a 6.2 piston/rod to sit next to my 5.4 piston/rod since I'll own trucks with both engines.

Lemme know!
