It's been a while since I was last on here so I'll share what has worked for me:
I almost always put the truck in 4wd and lock the rear diff depending on the surface and track setup. Real technical tracks I lock it so I can get more rear end swing to make it around turns. In 4wd don't lift completely, this allows the front wheels to "pull" as they are turning.
I always turn off road mode on and traction control off. Off road mode keeps the truck in the power of the first 3 gears(I rarely make it out of 2nd). ABS is you're enemy at a rallycross.
Use the weight of the truck to you're advantage. Transfer the weight before you enter a turn so it will help carry you through. Learn left foot braking and a simple move called the Scandinavian flick(google and youtube)
Use the throttle to turn the truck, the wheel is more of a suggestion Throttel control is the best thing to master as it affects how the truck reacts in a given situation.
