Good point loke. I really had fun even with the rest of the SCCA guys. Great group of people and it was nice to be welcomed to the group. There was more surprise / excitement over the truck than resentment. I am sure the more I am there, the more friends I will make. Next is to get the G8 to the Solo events too

Glad you had a great time, It's a great way to spend a Saturday. Due to the course sizes and conditions I've run it's hard for the truck to be competitive. General rule of thumb, the dryer a track is the faster the truck goes. Honestly it's more fun to just get out and play in the dirt with a bunch of other people.

I don't think the truck will be a class winner... yet. The size is its biggest disadvantage and I agree that the dryer courses will help. With the drivers at this event, with more experience on my part, a 3rd place finish would have been tough, but doable. I was less than 3 seconds from 5th place and just shy of 15 secs from 3rd. Had I run in the 52's or better all 8 runs, I would have been right in contention. I was over 40 seconds out from first though.

It was a lot of fun to bring something no one thought would be there, and to have fun. Most people thought I was a spectator or tow rig. It seemed like a lot more of the spectators where out of their cars watching when I would run laps, but the SA class was the largest too.

Here are some pics. These are on the icy front stretch. Not perfect, but pretty good shots. I'll keep posting more as I find them.

Does it look like one of those, "What does not belong" Books?

Yeah, I gotta get those fixed. I think all the bulbs are shot still from Snoball. Just have not thought to swap in the original bulbs yet.

I think there will be video posted later. As I find more / better ones I will post them. I might need to start a petition against my wife to let me buy a Go Pro for the next one

Hum, I see you have a chronic disease known as, “wifehasballsinpurse’ syndrome. When you find them ask her if she has seen your card (man).

Truthfully, it looks like fun. I know I already have too many hobbies, but I think I'm going to do some research to see if we have any Rally Crosses around here.

Just tell her it's a critical component necessary for vital forum education and feedback because you now have an important role breaking ground with offroad Raptor rally racing. Make your announcement long and convincing, and be sure to keep a straight face haha.

You do need a go pro on the truck, someone taking more pics, and your wife holding a cam corder so we feel like we were there too. Looks like a lot of fun, and we should definitely ask around to see if we can get in on any local action!
