So after my last Colorado trip I made the decision that I wanted better rebound control in the rear end and decided on bitting the bullet and getting front and rear Fox 3.0s.

After a couple of months of waiting they arrived sexy as ever. Knowing the 3.0 factory valving is a little harsh I knew I was going to get them re-valved by TSW here in Texas. Which brings me to today.

During the rebuild it was discovered one of the brand new, straight out of the box, bajillion dollar front shocks was missing some O-rings internally. This would have been a “fun time” if I went ahead and mounted them without having TSW do their magic. Then during the mounting the damn top hats we’re not clocked right … ugh. Quality control at Fox gets a

So I guess the point of my rambling is if you get new fox shocks have a good shop do a re-valve on them, unless you’re comfortable and equipped to do it yourself.

Alex and his crew at TSW Hutto TX get major cudos. Not only for their outstanding customer service but identifying and fixing sh*t which shouldn't have been an issue with brand new shocks in the first place.

They must have competent people assembling the custom race shocks. A couple racers losing big races, (due to a parts supplier scre wing up), and word gets around quick. I've seen it happen in the Trophy Truck division with an engine builder. There was also a series of engine fires (due to fuel rail problems) with LS engines that caused several offroad race vehicles to burn to the ground out in the middle of nowhere years ago. That kind of incident gets remembered.

Not sure about the internal O rings on mine (Gen 2 owner here), but my top hat was also on backwards and I had to pull the allen bolt to flip it so it could fit my right shock tower. That was just plain disappointing. Plus I don't think they all come preloaded the same. I went to KHC and they said mine are at 2" of preload but I know damn well they aren't. More like 1.5"

I wish I lived near a shop that I would trust to have these revalved.

I don’t want to sound as I’m talking sh*t about Fox Racing as these are truly kick-a55 shocks and sometimes sh*t happens. Just disappointed in the fact Fox is not keeping up in their quality control with such “specialized” and expensive hardware.

But am truly thankful for having TSW local to me.
