I know I said I was bowing out, but I just had to address this.

FINALLY some actual, sensible, logical thought! Lol! I never said the Ecoboost was absolutely better or even the best. All I said is that, in my experience in owning 5.0, 6.2, and Ecoboost powered trucks, is that the Ecoboost has been the "best" for me... In my opinion... And for my purposes. That's it.

And considering the new Ecoboost platform is supposed to be "better" and more powerful than the first generation Ecoboost, I'm excited to own one. It's an extremely capable engine, regardless of number of cylinders or sound.

I would LOVE to see Ford come out with an "Ecoboost" V8! However, considering how much that would drive the price up on an already-pricey truck, I don't see it happening. Additionally, a close friend of mine works at Ford (engineering department), and he told me to not be surprised if Ford discontinues V8s in the Ford altogether. [emoji46]

Hahaha the obligatory "I got a guy at ford", you know how many people here have a guy at ford? The v8 isn't going anywhere.

But this whole thread is about a race on "dirt", not on pavement where you were bringing it with RLTW. Its not all about the engine but more on the suspension and that is where RLTW will smoke a stock GEN2 or even a stock GEN1 for that matter when on "dirt". Thread had nothing to do with pavement racing or towing. Going fast on pavement is okay but going fast on dirt is beyond okay, it is addictive and awesome and in that regard it doesn't matter about the engine as much but most trophy trucks have bigger engines, go figure.

I thought the EB was the #1 selling engine for the F150, most people pick that instead of the 5.0. Maybe Ford thinks that majority of the people that buy the new raptor will choose the EB engine too vs the 5.0. Yeah, they can make a new boosted 5.0. But that's alot R&D money, and they already have the v6 EB engine available, all they got to do is slap a new pair of turbos, and change some minor things. I guess it all comes down to development cost.
