For $900, it sounds like you must have a lot of paint correction to be done. I paid about $400, for OC on the entire truck - but very little paint correction needed. (basically just clay bar)

My wife's new Outback went directly from the dealer to the detailer, and it was about the same cost. I don't remember the breakdown right now - I had opticoat on 2 vehicles and Xpel to one all at the same time.

Brand new truck. Wash, sanitize, clay, stage 1 paint correction (polish), OC Pro.

You can do it yourself for probably under $300, depending on if you hand polish it or get a DA. That $300 includes buying all the products.

Wash/Strip
Iron-X/Tar-X
Clay
Polish
15%-17% IPA wipedown
Opti-Coat

FYI, I hand polished my truck using a Wolfgang Polishin' Pal, LC white foam pad, and a foam hand polishing applicator for tight areas and Optimum Hyper Polish. Didn't need to do any correction on mine, just used the Hyper Polish to clean the paint.

Meguiar's makes a DA system that attaches to a drill if you not up for getting a real DA yet.

Keep in mind that if you have swirls and you don't polish them out, they will be under the Opti-Coat. The stage 1 correction he's probably doing is light polishing more focused on cleaning the paint and leaving it squeaky clean.

Good grief, all that. I'd rather spend the $900.
